Barbarian is a high-health melee brawler that excels at closing the gap and dealing massive physical damage. With the highest Vigor in the game and powerful damage skills like Whirlwind and Rage, Barbarian dominates in close-quarters combat but is vulnerable to kiting. Perks like Iron Will grant natural magic resistance, making Barbarian surprisingly resilient against casters. Any spellcaster who fails to keep their distance will face one of the hardest-hitting melee classes in the game.

Barbarian has access to 11 active skills. Popular picks include Achilles Strike (24s cooldown), Blood Exchange (28s cooldown), Finishing Blow (24s cooldown), Grappling Hook (16s cooldown). The best choice depends on your build. Offensive players often favor high-damage nukes, while defensive players lean toward survivability and escape tools.

Barbarian's starting stats are: Strength 20, Vigor 25, Agility 13, Dexterity 12, Will 18, Knowledge 5, Resourcefulness 12. The class excels in Vigor and Strength (25 and 20 base respectively), with lower values in Knowledge and Dexterity.

Stack Strength and Physical Power on your gear to push weapon damage as high as possible. Two-handed weapons like the Zweihander or Halberd deal the most damage per hit. If you are not running the Savage perk, make sure to equip a chest piece since Barbarian relies heavily on that armor slot for survivability without it. On the skill side, Rage and Whirlwind are top picks for most situations.
