What is 2XKO?

2XKO is Riot Games’ highly anticipated free-to-play 2v2 tag-team fighting game set in the League of Legends universe. Formerly known as Project L, the game allows players to pick two champions and swap between them during battle, combining flashy combos and team-based strategies through a unique system called Fuses.

Gameplay and Features

2XKO emphasizes fast-paced, high-skill gameplay with mechanics like:

• Light, medium, and heavy attacks
• Dashes, jumps, and air dashes
• Tag exchanges and assist moves
• Pushblocking, parries, and supers powered by meter

Game modes include Arcade, Versus (local and online), Training, and Ranked play, all wrapped in a stylized virtual arcade presentation.

Release Date and Beta

The 2XKO Closed Beta launches on September 9, 2025, starting on PC. Cross-progression is planned when the game fully releases on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2025. Riot is actively using community feedback from playtests to refine gameplay before launch.
