This core is a part of the nightmare, refined and reforged over and over again, then condescended into a singularity and sealed within dragonkin technology. It is a mote of potential, waiting to be released.
The technology is limited for now. Avisk was only able to use it to improve his existing equipment, as well as to empower the beasts he trapped in the nightmare dreamscape. Fortunately, limited as it might be, you should find this technology particularl useful, as it will allow you upgrade and improve some of your more unique equipment, such as masterwork gear.
