The Way Out

The Way Out is a Dark and Darker quest assigned by the Goblin Merchant merchant, part of the Make Them Pay quest line. Ughhh! My stew! I can still hear their laughter ringing in my head! I won’t let this go, never! Listen, back when I was exiled, I used a secret path to escape. But that was a long time ago, and I don’t know if it’s still there. I need you to head into the caves and find that escape route for me. I’ve got plans, you see? Plans bigger than they can imagine... bigger than my stew... and when it’s all over, they’ll all say they regret ever crossing Gobbo! The objective is to survive 3 raids. All progress requires a successful extraction — items retrieved or kills made during a failed run do not count toward quest completion. Once every objective is fulfilled, return to Goblin Merchant in the lobby to turn in the quest and receive the reward. This quest requires completing Gobbo's Famous Grubs before it becomes available from Goblin Merchant. Completing The Way Out rewards 50 Gold, Random Uncommon Armor, Random Uncommon Weapon, 50 XP, GoblinMerchant Affinity +25. The quest is completed in Goblin Caves. Merchant quests in Dark and Darker are one of the most consistent gold and experience sources in the game, independent of loot luck on the Trading Post. Completing the full Goblin Merchant quest chain unlocks higher reward tiers and increases merchant affinity, which can affect prices and open additional quest tiers in future seasons.
