The Ominous Crown

The Ominous Crown is a Dark and Darker quest assigned by the Treasurer merchant, part of the Treasure Hunt quest line. I’ve discovered what the Alchemist is searching for—a cursed crown. No matter what is done to it, it remains unscathed, and the gemstone at its center glows even in complete darkness. Can you find it before he does? I do not know what curse it carries, but this time, the Alchemist must not be allowed to obtain it. I have a bad feeling about this. The objective is to bring 1× gold crown (legend). All progress requires a successful extraction — items retrieved or kills made during a failed run do not count toward quest completion. Once every objective is fulfilled, return to Treasurer in the lobby to turn in the quest and receive the reward. This quest requires completing What the Alchemist Seeks before it becomes available from Treasurer. Completing The Ominous Crown rewards 200 Gold, Random Epic Armor, Random Epic Weapon, 2x Arcane Essence, 1 Gold, 1,000 XP. The quest is completed in Ice Cavern, Goblin Caves, Ruins or Ship Graveyard. Merchant quests in Dark and Darker are one of the most consistent gold and experience sources in the game, independent of loot luck on the Trading Post. Completing the full Treasurer quest chain unlocks higher reward tiers and increases merchant affinity, which can affect prices and open additional quest tiers in future seasons.
