A Wish Etched in Ink

A Wish Etched in Ink is a Dark and Darker quest assigned by the Navigator merchant, part of the In Search of the Echoes of the Past quest line. While reading through my crewmate’s journal, I found something interesting. It speaks of glowing pearls and unusually shaped coral near the Blue Maelstrom. It seems he truly wished to see them with his own eyes. Adventurer, would you help me find them? I’d like to fulfill his wish, even if it’s a little late. There are 2 objectives to complete: Bring 3× Coral Fragment; Bring 1× Shining Pearl. All progress requires a successful extraction — items retrieved or kills made during a failed run do not count toward quest completion. Once every objective is fulfilled, return to Navigator in the lobby to turn in the quest and receive the reward. This quest requires completing An Unforgotten Memory before it becomes available from Navigator. Completing A Wish Etched in Ink rewards 300 XP, 150 Gold, Random Epic Weapon. The quest is completed in Ice Cavern, Goblin Caves, Ruins or Ship Graveyard. Merchant quests in Dark and Darker are one of the most consistent gold and experience sources in the game, independent of loot luck on the Trading Post. Completing the full Navigator quest chain unlocks higher reward tiers and increases merchant affinity, which can affect prices and open additional quest tiers in future seasons. The In Search of the Echoes of the Past chain provides a structured progression path through the Navigator quest tree, and finishing each quest in order is the fastest route to the higher value objectives later in the line.
