Gold Rush

Gold Rush is a Dark and Darker quest assigned by the Treasurer merchant, part of the Beyond Prepared quest line. As we prepare for the battles ahead, remember, it's not just your weapons and armor that need upgrading. Your coffers must grow as well! Let's make some financial gains to ensure we're prepared for the unexpected. The objective is to interact with golden chest ×3. All progress requires a successful extraction — items retrieved or kills made during a failed run do not count toward quest completion. Once every objective is fulfilled, return to Treasurer in the lobby to turn in the quest and receive the reward. This quest requires completing Throne of the Forsaken before it becomes available from Treasurer. Completing Gold Rush rewards 150 Gold, Random Epic Armor, 350 XP, TavernMaster Affinity +10. The quest is completed in Ruins. Merchant quests in Dark and Darker are one of the most consistent gold and experience sources in the game, independent of loot luck on the Trading Post. Completing the full Treasurer quest chain unlocks higher reward tiers and increases merchant affinity, which can affect prices and open additional quest tiers in future seasons. The Beyond Prepared chain provides a structured progression path through the Treasurer quest tree, and finishing each quest in order is the fastest route to the higher value objectives later in the line.
