An Unforgettable Taste

An Unforgettable Taste is a Dark and Darker quest assigned by the Goblin Merchant merchant, part of the Gobbo’s Little Trick quest line. Before I was exiled, I saw it once while wandering the caves. A lizard completely on fire. Just once. It vanished so fast I thought my eyes fooled me, but they didn’t. It left a burning tail behind! Haha! It saw Gobbo and ran off scared. I searched everywhere after that, never saw it again. But I know it’s still out there, in the burning lands. There are 2 objectives to complete: Kill 5× Fire Lizard; Bring 2× Blazing Tail. All progress requires a successful extraction — items retrieved or kills made during a failed run do not count toward quest completion. Once every objective is fulfilled, return to Goblin Merchant in the lobby to turn in the quest and receive the reward. This quest requires completing Easy Pickings before it becomes available from Goblin Merchant. Completing An Unforgettable Taste rewards 75 XP, 50 Gold, Random Uncommon Armor, Random Uncommon Weapon. The quest is completed in Goblin Caves. Merchant quests in Dark and Darker are one of the most consistent gold and experience sources in the game, independent of loot luck on the Trading Post. Completing the full Goblin Merchant quest chain unlocks higher reward tiers and increases merchant affinity, which can affect prices and open additional quest tiers in future seasons. The Gobbo’s Little Trick chain provides a structured progression path through the Goblin Merchant quest tree, and finishing each quest in order is the fastest route to the higher value objectives later in the line.
