Easy Pickings is a Dark and Darker quest assigned by the Goblin Merchant merchant, part of the Gobbo’s Little Trick quest line. So the cave went rumble and CRASH, huh?! Hahaha! All the fools who mocked me got what they deserved! I knew it! Down there it’s blazing hot, bright red water flowing everywhere. Don’t touch it, fleshy. Soft meat like yours would burn right up. Those idiots are probably ash by now... so dig through what’s left. Might be something useful, hehehe. The objective is to interact with ash pile ×3. All progress requires a successful extraction — items retrieved or kills made during a failed run do not count toward quest completion. Once every objective is fulfilled, return to Goblin Merchant in the lobby to turn in the quest and receive the reward. This quest requires completing The Way Out before it becomes available from Goblin Merchant. Completing Easy Pickings rewards 75 XP, 50 Gold, 2x Arcane Essence. The quest is completed in Goblin Caves. Merchant quests in Dark and Darker are one of the most consistent gold and experience sources in the game, independent of loot luck on the Trading Post. Completing the full Goblin Merchant quest chain unlocks higher reward tiers and increases merchant affinity, which can affect prices and open additional quest tiers in future seasons. The Gobbo’s Little Trick chain provides a structured progression path through the Goblin Merchant quest tree, and finishing each quest in order is the fastest route to the higher value objectives later in the line.
