Date: xx/xx. I ran into someone I used to work with back in the Hugo Mercenaries. And that's how I found out what happened to Hugo and the others. Shit! Hugo, you fool... I should've gone back. I should've stopped you myself. Date: xx/xx. Lately, I've been visiting Hugo's memorial every day. It's the only place I feel any peace. And every time I'm there, memories of the old days come rushing back. We were so full of dreams. Date: xx/xx. The moment Galorik heard about my condition, he came to find me. Thanks to him, I was able to meet Lady Urd, who preserved my life with her petrification magic. He always treats others' problems like his own. He really reminds me of Hugo. Right. l should try to keep living. For Hugo's sake too. Date: xx/xx. It seems the Karas transformation can no longer be stopped. I should write him one last letter. I don't think I can stay in the village any longer. Yes, I'll go to the graveyard. To the Den of the Dead. Maybe there... even if I turn into a Karas, I won't hurt anyone. (This is the final entry in the journal)
