Chapter 1: The Beginning of the End This truth will be hidden from future generations. Some foretold this day, while others refused to believe. But now, I leave behind this record, proclaiming myself the final witness. You, who are reading this now— Know that this account proves that Elysea still stands, that the world within the Bulwark remains protected. I write this with one conviction: that the truth must reach those who come after. Guard Interdica —the land beyond— and the Elysea Capital, Elysium. Let the will of the Empyrean Lords who raised the Bulwark be known. Chapter 2: The Collapse of the Tower It all began with the Collapse. The endless war between the Elyos and the Asmodians and the ever-growing Abyss drained Odyle at an alarming rate. Consequently, the Tower of Eternity began to crumble. The Tower of Eternity, the very source of Daevahood, faltered— and so too did the power of the Daeva. The Balaur swept across Poeta and Verteron with terrifying speed. Then came Ishtar, leading grotesque legions resembling no living creature found on Atreia. Elyos Daeva joined forces to fight back, only to fall one by one, having been greatly weakened. Before long, it was revealed that those hideous legions were once our kin, fallen victim to Ishtar's experiments. Past comrades, family, lovers, all turned into Sura, weapons of the Balaur. Yet we had no choice but to raise our blades against them. There was no time for grief. Only the despair of battle. Then the day came. A thunderous roar shook the world and tremors split the sky. Shards of the great Tower rained down across the land. It was as if a divine will had declared the end of an era. The following day, and the one after... the world fell eerily silent. Even the Balaur halted their advance. Why? Was it a sign? A harbinger of a new age? Following the collapse of the Tower, the Empyrean Lords feared Atreia would soon fall entirely to the Balaur. But opinions diverged even among themselves. As signs of Ishtar's army stirring grew more frequent, the Empyrean Lords made their final decision. Chapter 3: The Bulwark Is Raised Ariel, the highest among the Empyrean Lords, took the lead, with Kaisinel and Yustiel by her side. Together, they resolved to raise a great bulwark at the edge of the Eltnen Desert to halt the Balaur advance. No decision could have been more painful. When the Bulwark rose, it was as if a storm scoured the land. All life, all that the Daeva had built, vanished into the sands of the Eracus Desert. The Empyrean Lords, having exhausted their strength, suffered extinction or otherwise faded beyond our reach. Clinging to our final hope, we passed through the area of the rising Bulwark into Interdica. Elysium itself was being relocated above our heads. It was a strange sight. Beyond the wall were dark clouds, but here, where I stand—radiant light. The people left behind would be forgiven for seeing this as the day the world ended. Surely, if the world were ever to end, it would look like this: the complete fall of the Tower, the ruin of Atreia, being engulfed by the Abyss. Ah, the gate will soon be closed. To think—Elysea divided in two... Will our world ever be whole again? When the storm settles, the Bulwark will be revealed. A wall hidden within a sandstorm. A wall so vast the eye cannot fully comprehend it. The edge of the world. Like the final command of the Empyrean Lords, all things scatter, and the world stands still before the closed gate. I pray my testimony may reach the edge of the world beyond that Bulwark. And may you, who read this, understand the truth, and reclaim what it means to be a Daeva. You who behold this document: locate the Bulwark! Find the path towards making Atreia whole again!
