Iron ManTony Stark
Flight Zoner / Air Rushdown
Iron Man fights from the air and uses flight cancels to make unsafe things safe. He fires, cancels into flight, repositions, fires again — and the opponent never gets the recovery window they were waiting for.
Most MARVEL Tōkon characters have a gameplan. Iron Man has a movement system that his gameplan hangs off. Free Flight (hold up in the air) and Multi-Dash (a fast directional air dash) are the two things every other move in his kit points at, and once you internalise that, the character stops feeling like a zoner and starts feeling like a rushdown character who happens to shoot.
That is also why he is a difficulty spike. Every Iron Man decision is really two decisions — what to press, and what to cancel it into. New Iron Man players throw Unibeam and wait. Good Iron Man players throw Unibeam, cancel into flight before it even finishes, and are already somewhere else when the opponent reacts to the beam.
- Free Flight and Multi-Dash give him the best mobility in the game
- Nearly every Skill cancels into flight or a dash, so his recovery is largely optional
- Iron Flash is a genuinely invincible rising anti-air that ALSO cancels into flight
- Smart Missiles let him keep moving while they travel — free pressure while he repositions
- Champion Buster into Unibeam Overdrive is one of the biggest single cash-outs in Tōkon
- Everything meaningful costs a cancel — miss the timing and you are sitting in full recovery
- Free Flight has a time limit, so the mobility is a resource, not a permanent state
- Fragile: the shared Vital Gauge does not care how good your movement was
- A character with a fast, invincible anti-air shuts down half the gameplan
- Highest execution requirement among the Fighting Avengers by a distance
Kế hoạch thi đấu của Iron Man
Iron Man does not want a range. He wants an angle. The whole point of Free Flight is that no position is committed, so play him as a character constantly relocating rather than one holding ground.
Neutral. Open with Smart Missiles. They track, and — crucially — Iron Man can keep moving while they travel, so the missiles do the work of pinning the opponent while you take a better angle. Follow with Unibeam as the straight-line threat and Repulsor Shot as the chip that builds pressure; repeating the Repulsor Shot button adds shots, and it cancels into flight like everything else.
Offense. Iron Man's pressure is not a blockstring, it is a series of approaches. Come in behind Smart Missiles, land a normal, cancel a Skill into Multi-Dash to cross up or reset your position, then start again. Because the cancel is what ends the sequence rather than the move's own recovery, the opponent rarely gets a clean turn back.
Defense. Iron Flash is the reversal — invincible on the rise, and it cancels into flight, so even a blocked one can be escaped from rather than punished. That combination is unusual and it is the main reason Iron Man survives pressure at all. Outside of it, use Guard Cancel Dodge to buy space and get back to the air, which is where he actually functions.
Resource. The Ultimate is a two-stage decision. Champion Buster calls in the armour, and holding attack spends 50 more Skill Gauge for Unibeam Overdrive, an enormous beam that only exists after that Ultimate. So 100 gauge is the entry price and 150 is the full cash-out — check the gauge before you commit, because a Champion Buster you cannot follow up is a fraction of the payoff.
Các chiêu thức chủ chốt của Iron Man
Iron Man has fourteen entries in his command list, but five of them decide the character.
Free Flight
Độc nhấtHold up in the air for free flight for a limited time.
The move the entire character is built on. Hold up in the air for free flight — this is what turns his Skills from committal into safe.
- Limited duration. Treat it as a resource you spend, not a state you live in.
- Cancelling into it mid-Skill is the core Iron Man skill. Practise it before anything else.
Multi-Dash
Độc nhấtFast directional air dash. Double-tap a direction, or hold it and press Quick Dash.
The other half of the movement system. Double-tap a direction, or hold and press Quick Dash. Where Free Flight lets you hover, Multi-Dash lets you commit fast.
Smart Missiles
Kỹ năng25 Skill GaugeFires a volley of tracking missiles, and he can keep moving while they travel.
The best neutral tool in the kit. Tracking missiles that let him keep moving while they travel — pressure and repositioning at the same time.
- Fire, then immediately take a new angle. The missiles are the threat; you are the follow-up.
Iron Flash
Kỹ năng25 Skill GaugeInvincible rising anti-air that also cancels into flight or a dash.
An invincible rising anti-air that also cancels into flight or a dash. Reversal and escape on one input.
- The flight cancel is what makes a blocked one survivable. Do not forget it under pressure.
Unibeam
Kỹ năng25 Skill GaugeFires a beam straight ahead. Cancels into Free Flight or Multi-Dash on the way out.
The straight-line threat, and the cleanest introduction to his cancel web — it cancels into Free Flight or Multi-Dash on the way out.
Repulsor Shot
Độc nhấtFires repulsor bolts. Repeating the button adds shots, and it cancels into flight.
Chip and pressure. Repeating the button adds shots, and it cancels into flight, so it is a safe way to occupy the opponent while you reposition.
- The crouching version angles the bolts upward — that is your answer to someone sitting directly above you.
Iron Avenger
Kỹ năng25 Skill GaugeCharging lunge that can be cancelled into Free Flight afterwards.
The approach. A charging lunge that can be cancelled into Free Flight afterwards, so committing to it is far less risky than it looks.
Champion Buster
Kỹ năng Ultimate100 Skill GaugeCalls in the Champion Buster armour. Holding attack spends 50 more gauge for a follow-up beam.
The Ultimate, and stage one of a two-stage spend. Holding attack costs 50 more Skill Gauge to unlock the follow-up.
Unibeam Overdrive
Kỹ năng Ultimate50 Skill GaugeThe Champion Buster follow-up: an enormous beam, only available after that Ultimate.
Stage two, and one of the largest single hits available to anyone in MARVEL Tōkon. Only exists after Champion Buster.
Combo của Iron Man
Grounded starter
Learn this, then immediately learn to cancel the Unibeam into Free Flight. That cancel is the character.
Flight-cancel pressure
The core Iron Man loop. You are not extending a combo so much as refusing to give the turn back.
Anti-air punish
Iron Flash launches; Multi-Dash is how you stay with them afterwards.
Air missile confirm
50 Skill GaugeMissiles pin, you close behind them. This is the most common way an Iron Man actually opens someone up.
Full Ultimate cash-out
150 Skill Gauge totalThe reason to bank gauge as Iron Man. Do not start it at 100 unless the round ends there anyway.
Phối hợp đội hình và assist của Iron Man
Called in, Iron Man's missiles and beams cover the long horizontal space most rushdown characters cannot threaten on their own. He is a natural second or third slot — his own neutral is strong enough that he does not need help, so use him to give someone else the approach he does not need.
Captain AmericaThe other half of Fighting Avengers, and the correct half. Cap holds the ground Iron Man abandons.
WolverineWolverine wants one clean approach. Iron Man's missiles buy exactly that, and Iron Man cleans up whatever Wolverine cannot reach.
HulkMissiles plus an armoured charge is a genuinely hard problem — the opponent cannot block both patiently.
MagnetoTwo long-range control characters. Slow, oppressive, and very hard to approach if you like that sort of thing. One practical warning for team building in MARVEL Tōkon: the Vital Gauge is shared, so Iron Man's fragility is your whole team's fragility. If he is on point, have a character behind him with a reliable reversal — an incoming Grounded Tag-In against a strong offensive team is where a lot of Iron Man rounds actually end.

Against another flight character, stop trying to out-zone and start using Multi-Dash to fight up close — his normals are better than most people expect.
Iron Man turns MARVEL Tōkon into a game played above the floor — almost everything he does cancels into Free Flight or Multi-Dash, so his blockstrings never really end. Iron Man là một Flight Zoner / Air Rushdown, độ khó 4 trên 5. Những đặc điểm nổi bật là Free Flight, Air dominant, Cancel-heavy, High ceiling.

Câu hỏi thường gặp về cách chơi Iron Man
How does Iron Man's flight work in MARVEL Tōkon?
Iron Man has two air movement tools. Free Flight is activated by holding up in the air and lets him fly freely for a limited time. Multi-Dash is a fast directional air dash performed by double-tapping a direction or holding it and pressing Quick Dash. Critically, Unibeam, Iron Flash, Iron Avenger, Repulsor Shot and Repulsor Blast all cancel into one or both of these, which is what lets Iron Man skip his own recovery.
Is Iron Man hard to play in MARVEL Tōkon?
Yes — Iron Man is one of the harder characters in MARVEL Tōkon. The moves themselves are simple, but almost every one of them is only good if you cancel it into Free Flight or Multi-Dash, so each decision is really two decisions. He also has no armour and no comeback resource, and the team Vital Gauge is shared, so mistakes are expensive.
What is Iron Man's best combo ender in MARVEL Tōkon?
With 50 Skill Gauge, Unibeam Max is the reliable ender and works in the air. With 150 banked, the real payoff is the Ultimate: Champion Buster calls in the armour, then holding attack spends 50 more gauge for Unibeam Overdrive, an enormous beam that only exists after that Ultimate. Starting Champion Buster at exactly 100 gauge gives up most of the damage.
What is the best neutral tool for Iron Man in MARVEL Tōkon?
Smart Missiles. They track the opponent and Iron Man can keep moving while they travel, so he gets pressure and repositioning from one input. Fire them, then take a different angle with Free Flight or Multi-Dash and approach behind them. Unibeam is the straight-line threat, but the missiles are what actually create your openings.
Who counters Iron Man in MARVEL Tōkon?
Characters who can contest the air. Storm has her own Free Flight plus Tempest, a screen-wide wind that repositions both fighters. Doctor Doom has Free Flight and Nullify Shield, which blanks projectiles outright. Blade's Heart Stopper is a steerable projectile that reaches Iron Man in the air. Against all three, switch from zoning to using Multi-Dash and fighting up close.
Where should Iron Man go on a MARVEL Tōkon team?
Iron Man works best in a second or third slot as a zoning and lockdown assist, because his own neutral is strong enough that he does not need help — better to spend him giving an approach to someone who does. If you do put him on point, put a character with a dependable reversal behind him, since an incoming Grounded Tag-In against a strong offensive team is where fragile point characters lose rounds.
