How to beat Jing Ye, the Outlaw
Our strategy, built from the fight's numbers, followed by the game's own codex entry.
- Parry the blue flashes: 2 of Jing Ye, the Outlaw's 23 attacks flash blue before they land, and a timed parry stops them.
- Dodge the red flashes: 1 attacks flash red. They can't be parried, so dodge through them instead of blocking.
- The tightest tell is Heavy Double Cleave: only 0.43s from the flash to the hit, so react to the flash, not the swing.
- Blade Combo Grab is a grab: dodge it, because blocking and parrying don't stop a grab.
- Bring Frost: it deals 16% more damage to Jing Ye, the Outlaw.
- Shock builds up 16% faster on Jing Ye, the Outlaw.
- Jing Ye, the Outlaw's Sha-Chi bar is 2,000: perfect parries and Guard Break attacks drain it, and an empty bar opens the boss to a finisher.
Frost and Lightning both deal 16% extra damage to Jing Ye, with Frost lasting 16% longer and Shock building 16% faster. Avoid Fire, Poison and Bleed: Fire and Poison are resisted by 60%, and Burn, Poison and Bleed build-up is 60% slower.
The codex offers a useful tip: his iron-spiked round shield is difficult to break without a broad, powerful blade, so a heavy weapon is worth bringing. He can also hurl that shield, launch blood spikes from afar, and drain blood from enemies to restore himself, so keep the pressure on.
At level 6 he has roughly 44,100 HP and 4,200 Sha-Chi by calculation, with no special Sha-Chi resistances. He pays 14,400 Remnant Dust and drops the Outlaw Warblade, a weapon. Next in the Crimson Forest is Bai Chilian, Lady of the Twin Serpents.

Jing Ye, the Outlaw lore
The codex entry the game unlocks for Jing Ye, the Outlaw.
In-game codexA leader of the mounted raiders, Jing Ye rides a blood-red warhorse. Both horse and rider are covered in menacing steel spikes, like a wasteland of thorns charging at full speed. Brutal and bloodthirsty, he has spent years pillaging across the eastern Wulin, taking particular pleasure in hunting down those of the righteous path from horseback.
A year ago, Jing Ye was defeated by the Order and the Three Pillars of Kunlun. Rather than flee far, he gathered his men in the mountains and seized the main roads, turning trenches and hidden passages left behind by the righteous forces into ambush traps.
His martial skill has only grown since. His iron-spiked round shield can be hurled at enemies, and its defenses are difficult to break without a broad, powerful blade. Enemy heads hang from his waist, ready to be crushed for blood, which he shapes into spikes with Sha-Chi and launches from afar. With the Outlaw’s Warblade, he can drain blood from enemies to restore himself, or expend his own blood to strengthen his attacks.
Yet this deranged outlaw was once a young man carrying a treasured blade and an earnest desire to join the righteous path. The blade remains the same, but the man has changed. Those righteous warriors who once rode past him without a second glance have all since fallen beneath his blade, yet he still feels his "great vengeance" remains unfulfilled.
