What is Permafrost?

Permafrost is a story-driven survival crafting game by SpaceRocket Games, published by Toplitz Productions, set in a city frozen by a sudden ice age. You scavenge, craft, build a shelter, hunt animals and manage hunger, energy and body warmth while following a main story of 37 quests.

When does Permafrost release?

Permafrost enters Steam Early Access on October 9, 2026, on PC (Steam, GOG and Epic). This database was built from the 2-hour preview build (0.44.2.4552-playtest) and is refreshed from the retail build at launch.

How many items and recipes are in Permafrost?

The preview build contains 319 items (28 firearms and bows, 48 tools, 82 pieces of clothing, 73 consumables, 44 resources), 176 crafting recipes, 29 blueprint sets and 137 building parts.

How do I stay warm in Permafrost?

Wear clothing with high thermal insulation. The warmest single piece is the Permafrost Boots at 50 insulation; the warmest possible outfit across all 8 slots totals 255. Eat and drink hot items, stay near braziers and campfires, and avoid cold zones until your gear is good enough.

Which starting class is best?

Permafrost has 3 starting classes (Hunter, Smuggler, Survivor) that differ only by their starting kit, plus 4 specializations that each add +1 to three skills. Pick by the skills you plan to use most; nothing is locked out later.

How big is the Permafrost map?

The world is split into 10 loot regions with 38 named journal locations. The game ships one 4096-pixel world map; the preview data carries no coordinates for points of interest, so the map page shows terrain, regions and fast-travel points.

Is this data final?

No. Everything here comes from Early Access preview build 0.44.2.4552-playtest. Items, recipes and numbers can change at the October 9 launch; the database is rebuilt from the retail files on launch day.

Where does the data come from?

From the game's own data assets, string tables and textures, extracted and cross-referenced by slug. Calculated numbers (DPS, outfit totals, skill ladders) are labelled as such; nothing is estimated from play sessions.
