How to beat One-Eyed Archer

Our strategy, built from the fight's numbers, followed by the game's own codex entry.

  • Dodge the red flashes: 2 attacks flash red. They can't be parried, so dodge through them instead of blocking.
  • The tightest tell is Lunging Grab Throw: only 0.51s from the flash to the hit, so react to the flash, not the swing.
  • Lunging Grab Throw is a grab: dodge it, because blocking and parrying don't stop a grab.
  • One-Eyed Archer's Sha-Chi bar is 2,000: perfect parries and Guard Break attacks drain it, and an empty bar opens the boss to a finisher.

There is no elemental trick to the One-Eyed Archer: he has no elemental or status modifiers and no special Sha-Chi interactions. Use whichever element your build favors and win through Sha-Chi pressure, with Parries and Standard Combos draining his guard at the normal rate.

Base HP is 8,000 with 2,000 Sha-Chi. His exact level within Meigu Lake's 18 to 23 band is not confirmed; at level 23 he would have roughly 124,160 HP and 23,275 Sha-Chi before difficulty.

The codex describes a master of both bow and sword whose Crimson Eyes fire blood-red beams without a drawn string, so expect pressure at range. He hides on the island east of Meigu Lake, between Grief-Stricken Jin and You Loong, the Frenzied Blackwater Crew Leader. The reward is 90,000 Remnant Dust, the One-Eyed Bow Phantom Edge and a Reinforced Bowstring.

One-Eyed Archer lore

The codex entry the game unlocks for One-Eyed Archer.

An archer hidden on the island east of Meigu Lake. Wounded though he is, he remains a master of both bow and sword: his robes billow when he moves, yet his bearing remains steady when he stands still. But his body has been invaded by a strange power, and several scarlet Crimson Eyes have sprouted between him and his bow. He need only will it, and blood-red beams of death pierce the air without a drawn string.

This master of the Featherbow Sect once traveled the land with great ambition, hunting down Maskwalkers. But when he returned to the Encampment, he found his fellow disciples disfigured and changed in nature by Perfect Transcension, and they sought to force him to undergo it as well. He fought his way out and set out to find Huangxing, seeking an explanation and determined to stop him at the cost of his life. A Wulin consumed by such bloodlust was never the future he had promised his daughter.

He escaped Perfect Transcension, but not the strange thing lurking deep within the Discordance. The Crimson Eyes that had long lain hidden on his bow had been watching the power in his blood, and when he was still recovering from his wounds, they burrowed into his flesh and bone.

He clings to his final breath, waiting for someone worthy of his trust, and for someone to put an end to him.
