Drunk, I fell into the water and was hauled back up in someone's net. Seven or eight noisy fishermen crowded around me. Some laughed, some complained that I had ruined a good fishing spot, and one wondered aloud whether I counted as part of the catch.
A few of their remarks were more than I could tolerate, so I started a fight. I was about to draw my sword when a man in blue pinned me down. His presence brooked no argument. "Enough. Young man, come with me."
He never asked where I came from. He simply invited me to drink. The next day, he took me to the river and taught me how to spear fish.
