The secret operatives trained by the Order are called Shadow Wardens.
Using a "Mindseal"—driving a single directive into their minds like a wedge, replacing their original thoughts—the subjects are made to accept and obey this directive as if it were their own, ensuring their "loyalty" to the Order as Shadow Wardens.
But in this way, the Mindseal does not bestow absolute control over the subject, but instead is a form of hypnosis, and it cannot control those with powerful wills.
