Serpent's Memory description
All the love, hatred, and reckless abandon of days past gradually faded amid the illusions of the Mirrorwood. All the serpents could do for their master was venture through the mist again and again, searching for pieces of the pipa and whatever clues they could find.
At times, they would return empty-handed and be struck at their vital spot. Yet even when they found something, their only reward was to be sent out once more...
Their master was changing. Little by little, she came to call only two names—one that never answered, and one that always did.
In the end, that faint, illusory voice became the only thing she still believed in.
