Rogue Build Calculator

The Dark and Darker Rogue build calculator on MetaBot lets you experiment with every piece of gear available to the Rogue, covering all armor slots, both weapon slots, rings, necklaces, and utility items, and see your full stat totals update in real time as you make each change. Armor rating, magic resistance, weapon damage, move speed, action speed, and all attribute bonuses are calculated from the actual item database, so every number in the stat panel reflects what you would genuinely have in a dungeon run at that exact gear combination. The item picker automatically filters to only show gear the Rogue can legally equip, so you are always choosing from valid options without needing to memorize class restrictions yourself. Skills, spells, and perks are all selectable from the Rogue's complete pool, letting you factor in ability based stat bonuses and passive effects alongside your gear choices. The training dummy section calculates expected damage output against different enemy armor values so you can compare weapon choices numerically before spending gold on the market. When your build is finalized, save it and generate a shareable link. Anyone who opens it loads the exact same Rogue configuration in the calculator. The community tab shows the highest voted Rogue builds submitted by other MetaBot users, ranked by upvotes, giving you starting points across every budget and playstyle. Load any community build directly into the calculator to inspect each item choice, tweak individual slots, and see exactly how changes affect your stats before committing the build to a real dungeon run.

Rogue Build Guide FAQ — Dark and Darker

What is the Rogue playstyle in Dark and Darker?

Rogue is a high-agility melee class built for stealth, burst damage, and mobility. It has the highest Agility in the game and powerful skills like Hide, Shadowstep, and Dual Strike. Rogue thrives on picking fights it can control, but its very low Vigor means it must avoid trading hits whenever possible.

What are the best skills for Rogue in Dark and Darker?

Rogue has access to 10 active skills. Hide (32s) is the most popular and defining skill of the class, turning you invisible for 8 seconds across 2 charges and giving you full control over when a fight starts. Dual Strike (18s) strikes with both weapons simultaneously for full weapon damage each, making it one of the highest burst damage skills in the game and a core part of most Rogue builds. Rupture (24s) applies a 15 physical bleed over 5 seconds on your next attack with 0.75 bonus scaling, and can stack up to 5 times for serious sustained damage on a single target. Beyond the top three, Caltrops (28s) throws caltrops that deal 10 physical damage and reduce enemy move speed by 50% for 3 seconds across 3 charges, great for slowing down pursuers. Cut Throat (18s) silences the target for 2 seconds on hit, shutting down skills and spells and making it excellent against casters. Shadowstep (30s) instantly teleports you behind your target on the next melee attack, setting up backstab positioning. Sneak Attack (22s) adds 10 physical damage on the next attack, with a bonus 10 if the target is out of combat. Smoke Pot (60s) deploys an 8-second smoke screen in a 6-meter radius that also slightly reduces enemy move speed. Tumbling (0.5s) is a near-instant backtumble away from the direction you are facing, useful for dodging attacks in tight spaces. Weakpoint Attack (24s) reduces target armor by 30% for 3 seconds on a melee hit, amplifying follow-up damage from yourself or allies.

What are Rogue's base stats in Dark and Darker?

Rogue's starting stats are: Strength 9, Vigor 6, Agility 25, Dexterity 20, Will 10, Knowledge 10, Resourcefulness 25. The class excels in Agility and Resourcefulness (25 and 25 base respectively), with lower values in Vigor and Strength.

How do I build Rogue in Dark and Darker?

Agility, Dexterity, and Physical Damage are Rogue's primary stats. Double daggers is the dominant build right now, pairing Dual Strike with Rupture for massive burst and bleed damage in a single exchange. A Rapier build is a solid alternative, using its longer reach to poke enemies and keep them at range while staying mobile. There is also a niche magical damage bleed build that stacks Will and Knowledge to scale Rupture's magical component for a completely different damage profile. Whatever weapon you choose, light armor is essential for keeping move speed and action speed high, since Rogue wins fights by controlling the pace, not by trading hits.

Is Rogue good for solo play in Dark and Darker?

Rogue can be played solo very effectively thanks to Hide and Shadowstep giving you full control over when fights start and end. If an engagement goes wrong, Hide lets you disengage and reset. The tradeoff is that Rogue has very low Vigor, so any fight where you take sustained hits will go poorly fast. Pick off isolated targets, avoid multi-enemy rooms without a plan, and use your mobility to never fight on someone else's terms.
