Oh Brother

Oh Brother is a Dark and Darker quest assigned by the Alchemist merchant, part of the Always Intrigued quest line. You know, my brother, the Surgeon, has never forgiven me for abandoning traditional medicine. He still believes in the old ways, as if stitching up the body can heal the soul—curses, for example. I learned that lesson too late. Our mother died in agony, and I was powerless to help. That’s when alchemy called to me—its promise of real power, of true healing. I need these potions, not just for myself, but to show him the way forward. He’ll see the truth eventually... even if I have to make him understand the hard way. There are 3 objectives to complete: Bring 1× Healing Potion; Bring 1× Invisibility Potion; Bring 1× Protection Potion. All progress requires a successful extraction — items retrieved or kills made during a failed run do not count toward quest completion. Once every objective is fulfilled, return to Alchemist in the lobby to turn in the quest and receive the reward. This quest requires completing Death Awakens before it becomes available from Alchemist. Completing Oh Brother rewards 125 Gold, 2x Arcane Essence, Random Rare Armor, 200 XP. The quest is completed in Ice Cavern, Goblin Caves, Ruins or Ship Graveyard. Merchant quests in Dark and Darker are one of the most consistent gold and experience sources in the game, independent of loot luck on the Trading Post. Completing the full Alchemist quest chain unlocks higher reward tiers and increases merchant affinity, which can affect prices and open additional quest tiers in future seasons. The Always Intrigued chain provides a structured progression path through the Alchemist quest tree, and finishing each quest in order is the fastest route to the higher value objectives later in the line.
