Stocking Up
Stocking Up is a Dark and Darker quest assigned by the Goldsmith merchant, part of the Preparing for Work quest line. Lately, the demand for silver has been rising. It’s sought after not only by the upper class, but by adventurers as well. I’d like to stock up a bit before it’s too late. My tools are also due for replacement, so if possible, could you bring me some silver along with them? I’d appreciate it. There are 3 objectives to complete: Bring 1× Bronze Scale; Bring 3× Silver Ingots; Bring 1× Stone Mortar. All progress requires a successful extraction — items retrieved or kills made during a failed run do not count toward quest completion. Once every objective is fulfilled, return to Goldsmith in the lobby to turn in the quest and receive the reward. This quest requires completing A Short Break before it becomes available from Goldsmith. Completing Stocking Up rewards 125 XP, 125 Gold, Random Rare Weapon. The quest is completed in Ice Cavern, Goblin Caves, Ruins or Ship Graveyard. Merchant quests in Dark and Darker are one of the most consistent gold and experience sources in the game, independent of loot luck on the Trading Post. Completing the full Goldsmith quest chain unlocks higher reward tiers and increases merchant affinity, which can affect prices and open additional quest tiers in future seasons.
