The Squire's Reality
The Squire's Reality is a Dark and Darker quest assigned by the Squire merchant, part of the The Ideal and the Real quest line. Adventurer... the skeletons were nothing like I imagined. I thought I would feel sorry for them, but I didn’t. They were terrifying. I only saw them from afar, but I was so scared I couldn’t even move. And the ones in Frost Mountain were even worse. Their bones were all frozen blue, like they had been trapped in ice for ages. It was awful. Please, adventurer, can you take care of them? I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep until they're gone. There are 3 objectives to complete: Kill 5× Frost Skeleton Archer; Kill 5× Frost Skeleton Footman; Kill 5× Frost Skeleton Guardsman. All progress requires a successful extraction — items retrieved or kills made during a failed run do not count toward quest completion. Once every objective is fulfilled, return to Squire in the lobby to turn in the quest and receive the reward. This quest requires completing The Squire's Daydream before it becomes available from Squire. Completing The Squire's Reality rewards 50 Gold, 2x Arcane Essence, 75 XP. The quest is completed in Ice Cavern. Merchant quests in Dark and Darker are one of the most consistent gold and experience sources in the game, independent of loot luck on the Trading Post.
