How to beat Huangxing, the Kunlun Renegade
Our strategy, built from the fight's numbers, followed by the game's own codex entry.
- Parry the blue flashes: 3 of Huangxing, the Kunlun Renegade's 26 attacks flash blue before they land, and a timed parry stops them.
- Dodge the red flashes: 4 attacks flash red. They can't be parried, so dodge through them instead of blocking.
- The tightest tell is Sweeping Sword Chop: only 0.45s from the flash to the hit, so react to the flash, not the swing.
- Bring Frost: it deals 16% more damage to Huangxing, the Kunlun Renegade.
- Shock builds up 16% faster on Huangxing, the Kunlun Renegade.
- Huangxing, the Kunlun Renegade's Sha-Chi bar is 2,400: perfect parries and Guard Break attacks drain it, and an empty bar opens the boss to a finisher.
Frost and Lightning both deal 16% more damage to Huangxing, with Frost lasting 16% longer and Shock building 16% faster. Fire, Poison and Water are all cut by 30%, and Bleed builds up 60% slower, so a Frost or Lightning weapon is the right call.
His guard is stubborn. Parries drain 40% less Sha-Chi and hitting him while he guards drains 30% less, so mix Sha-Chi Combos with elemental damage rather than waiting on Parries. At an estimated level 22 he has about 135,180 HP and 27,212 Sha-Chi from 9,000 and 2,400 base, before difficulty.
The codex says his mechanical left arm can wield the Flying Guillotine at range or he can draw his sword for close combat, so stay alert at every distance. He follows Jade-Face, drops the Flying Guillotine Phantom Edge, and his second form, Huangxing, the Whirling Executioner (boss #65), comes next.

Huangxing, the Kunlun Renegade lore
The codex entry the game unlocks for Huangxing, the Kunlun Renegade.
In-game codexAt the summit of the Mountain of Imprisonment, in the temple of the Lady of the Veil, Huangxing, once one of the Three Pillars of Kunlun and now the mastermind behind Perfect Transcension, holds court. Wearing a masked helm, his left arm from the elbow down is composed of intricate mechanisms. With it, he can wield the Flying Guillotine at range or draw his sword for close combat, his attacks forceful and relentless.
Countless opponents of Perfect Transcension have died by his hand. He will use their blood to forge a new path.
The Mandate’s upper ranks are corrupt, its disciples weak; those in power lack resolve, while those with resolve lack power. Yuyin clings to the Wulin’s rules, while Moji is painfully naive. These injustices have prolonged the bloodshed and caused countless needless deaths.
He joined forces with Master Bai to conspire against Yuyin and the Chord. He pushed Perfect Transcension through the Encampment, seized the Mountain of Imprisonment with his elite followers, and showed no mercy to those who opposed him, even Moji.
A new Wulin, a new Phantom World, is unfolding before him. There is no need to look down at the bones beneath his feet.
