How to beat Lei Dang, the Tiger Cannon
Our strategy, built from the fight's numbers, followed by the game's own codex entry.
- Parry the blue flashes: 1 of Lei Dang, the Tiger Cannon's 23 attacks flash blue before they land, and a timed parry stops them.
- Dodge the red flashes: 1 attacks flash red. They can't be parried, so dodge through them instead of blocking.
- The tightest tell is Spinning Cannon Combo: only 0.28s from the flash to the hit, so react to the flash, not the swing.
- Bring Frost: it deals 16% more damage to Lei Dang, the Tiger Cannon.
- Shock builds up 16% faster on Lei Dang, the Tiger Cannon.
- Lei Dang, the Tiger Cannon's Sha-Chi bar is 2,400: perfect parries and Guard Break attacks drain it, and an empty bar opens the boss to a finisher.
Hit Lei Dang with Frost or Lightning. Both deal 16% more damage, Frost lasts 16% longer and Shock builds up 16% faster. Water is cut by 60% and Fire by 30%, and Bleed, Blood Burst and Soaked build up 60% slower.
At level 23 his 9,000 base HP and 2,400 base Sha-Chi calculate to roughly 139,680 HP and 27,930 Sha-Chi before difficulty. Parries drain 30% less of his Sha-Chi, so combos should carry most of the Guard Break.
The codex says the Tiger Cannon fitted to his severed right arm roars like a tiger when charged and unleashes devastating firepower. He follows Yuding, No.12, Crescent Blade Puppet at Mirage Estate and is followed by his second form, Lei Dang, One-Armed Tiger (boss #69). The Tiger Cannon Phantom Edge drops from him.

Lei Dang, the Tiger Cannon lore
The codex entry the game unlocks for Lei Dang, the Tiger Cannon.
In-game codexAn Envoy of the Order, Lei Dang is broad shouldered and formidable, with an upright, steady nature and unwavering loyalty. He once lost his right arm on a mission and was saved by Soul.
He later fitted a Tiger Cannon to his severed arm. When charged, it roars like a tiger and unleashes devastating firepower. Now, under orders from the new Shadow Sovereign, Zuo Shang, he has come to Pangzhen to stop the Herald's long brewing scheme, a plot that could shake the entire Phantom World.
When the former Shadow Sovereign, Mu, was suddenly murdered, and the killer turned out to be Soul, an old comrade who had fought beside him through life and death, Lei Dang could hardly believe it. Yet by both duty and reason, he should have taken Soul into custody the moment they met. But with the situation at hand, and their deep bond in mind, he ultimately held back and instead showed Soul a path to Mirage Estate.
Yet for all Lei Dang's steadiness, every move he made had already been accounted for in Zuo Shang's calculations.
