How to beat Mu Xiaokui, Young Mistress of the Order
Our strategy, built from the fight's numbers, followed by the game's own codex entry.
- Parry the blue flashes: 1 of Mu Xiaokui, Young Mistress of the Order's 17 attacks flash blue before they land, and a timed parry stops them.
- Dodge the red flashes: 4 attacks flash red. They can't be parried, so dodge through them instead of blocking.
- The tightest tell is Retreating Wave Combo: only 0.13s from the flash to the hit, so react to the flash, not the swing.
- Twin-Sword Grab is a grab: dodge it, because blocking and parrying don't stop a grab.
- Mu Xiaokui, Young Mistress of the Order adds new attacks below 80% HP, so expect the moveset to change at 80%.
- Mu Xiaokui, Young Mistress of the Order's Sha-Chi bar is 2,400: perfect parries and Guard Break attacks drain it, and an empty bar opens the boss to a finisher.
Mu Xiaokui has no elemental or status weaknesses or resistances, so any weapon works and the fight is about execution. Her one notable trait is that Parries drain 40% less of her Sha-Chi than normal, so build toward Guard Break mainly through Standard Combos and Sha-Chi Combos.
At level 8 her 9,000 base HP comes to roughly 42,200 by calculation, before difficulty, with about 7,540 Sha-Chi.
The codex describes the slender sword Wild Oriole, graceful speed that lands ten strikes in an instant, and a talent for aerial slashes and thrusts, so stay alert whenever she takes to the air. She follows Dusk, the Puppeteer in the Village of Lu and leads directly into Mu Xiaokui, Queen of Iron and Jade (boss #30).

Mu Xiaokui, Young Mistress of the Order lore
The codex entry the game unlocks for Mu Xiaokui, Young Mistress of the Order.
In-game codexMu Tianmiao’s only daughter and Soul’s childhood friend. Lively, straightforward, and self assured, Xiaokui has loved swordplay since childhood and shows remarkable talent for martial arts. With the slender sword Wild Oriole in hand, she fights with graceful speed, striking ten times in an instant as sword shadows scatter around her. Light as a swallow, she excels at aerial slashes and thrusts, her attacks carrying a sharpness and vitality all her own.
Then everything changed. The father she had always believed unshakable was murdered, and the killer was Soul.
Zuo Shang seemed to accept it almost immediately. He comforted her, promising to avenge their Shifu and give both her and the Order an answer. But Xiaokui wished he would tell her there had been some misunderstanding. Their happy days together still felt so close. Her father was always going on about his ideals, yet he would still indulge her excuses to drag Soul away for sword practice, while Zuo Shang stayed behind to keep him company.
They were all precious family to her. So what happened? Why did the person she had trusted without question, the one she had dreamed of roaming the Wulin with and righting wrongs beside, leave without a single explanation and head alone to Pangzhen with the Order in pursuit?
