How to beat Qiu Feng, the Crimson Boneblade
Our strategy, built from the fight's numbers, followed by the game's own codex entry.
- Parry the blue flashes: 3 of Qiu Feng, the Crimson Boneblade's 21 attacks flash blue before they land, and a timed parry stops them.
- Dodge the red flashes: 3 attacks flash red. They can't be parried, so dodge through them instead of blocking.
- The tightest tell is Flanking Double Wave: only 0.28s from the flash to the hit, so react to the flash, not the swing.
- Qiu Feng, the Crimson Boneblade adds new attacks below 80%, 60%, 50% HP, so expect the moveset to change at 80%.
- Qiu Feng, the Crimson Boneblade's Sha-Chi bar is 2,400: perfect parries and Guard Break attacks drain it, and an empty bar opens the boss to a finisher.
Qiu Feng has no weakness to target, so rely on raw damage and Sha-Chi pressure. Poison is his only elemental resistance at 30% less damage, and Poison, Bleed and Blood Burst build up 30% slower; Fire, Frost, Lightning and Water all land at full strength.
At level 24 his 9,000 base HP and 2,400 base Sha-Chi calculate to about 144,180 HP and 29,338 Sha-Chi before difficulty. Parries drain 30% less of his Sha-Chi than usual.
The codex says he wields the twin-bladed Crimson Boneblade with martial opera footwork, and that when the battle turns against him he pulls a long blade from his own skull and swings it with the fury of a sudden storm, so expect him to escalate as the fight goes on. He guards the mourning hall at Mirage Estate, after Huangxing, the Whirling Executioner and before Yuding, No.12. No drops are recorded; the reward is 102,000 Remnant Dust.

Qiu Feng, the Crimson Boneblade lore
The codex entry the game unlocks for Qiu Feng, the Crimson Boneblade.
In-game codexA Thread-Binding killer who guards the mourning hall at the Mirage Estate. He wears a straw rain cape, with several crimson masks stacked atop his head. His powerful frame is corpse-pale, and in his hands is a twin-bladed weapon known as the Crimson Boneblade, a vicious relic he treasures like his own marrow.
Qiu Feng is brutish and bloodthirsty by nature. Believing that performing arts can ward off evil, he crudely imitates them: adopting the footwork of martial opera performers and the fang-baring movements of fang-spitting performances, even adorning his own masks with fangs. He firmly believes these additions make his techniques more powerful.
When he first entered the estate, he slaughtered all the Nuo performers and took their Red Judge masks as treasures. Unable to wear them all on his face, he stacked them atop his head. He also imitated the sword-swallowing and fire-walking tricks, driving a long blade straight into his skull to show off his supposed invulnerability. When the battle turns against him, he pulls the blade from his skull, lets the masks cover it, and swings it with the fury of a sudden storm.
Such a madman follows the Herald not out of loyalty, but because he craves the blood of powerful opponents to stain his masks and straw cape completely red. When he learned that the undefeated “Master Soul” had entered the estate, he eagerly waited in his path.
Alas, this time, it was his own blood that stained the masks and straw cape red.
