How to beat The Crusher, Earthshattering Form
Our strategy, built from the fight's numbers, followed by the game's own codex entry.
- Parry the blue flashes: 1 of The Crusher, Earthshattering Form's 16 attacks flash blue before they land, and a timed parry stops them.
- Dodge the red flashes: 2 attacks flash red. They can't be parried, so dodge through them instead of blocking.
- The tightest tell is Triple Guard-Break Combo: only 0.38s from the flash to the hit, so react to the flash, not the swing.
- The Crusher, Earthshattering Form adds new attacks below 90% HP, so expect the moveset to change at 90%.
- Bring Poison: it deals 30% more damage to The Crusher, Earthshattering Form.
- Poison builds up 30% faster on The Crusher, Earthshattering Form.
- The Crusher, Earthshattering Form's Sha-Chi bar is 4,000: perfect parries and Guard Break attacks drain it, and an empty bar opens the boss to a finisher.
Switch to Poison for The Crusher, Earthshattering Form. Poison now deals 30% more damage and builds up 30% faster, and Bleed builds 16% faster, while Fire, Frost and Water remain cut by 60%, Frost wears off 60% sooner, and Burn and Soaked build up 60% slower.
His guard is softer than in the previous stage but still tough: hits drain 50% less Sha-Chi and Parries 30% less, against a larger 4,000 base Sha-Chi pool. Base HP is 10,000 and base attack stays at 150. His exact level on Mount Soulrend is not confirmed, so no scaled figures are given.
The codex says that without the Saw controlling him, the Crusher only grows more savage, his skin burning red and black smoke rising as Sha-Chi boils through his body. This fight follows The Crusher and the Saw and leads to Leng Tu, Herald of the Veil.

The Crusher, Earthshattering Form lore
The codex entry the game unlocks for The Crusher, Earthshattering Form.
In-game codexOnly after the Saw is knocked off does the truth become clear: The Crusher has no head. The sinews and blood vessels in his neck coil like the rings of an old tree, while the flesh writhes as if searching for the head he lost long ago.
Without the Saw controlling him, the Crusher only grows more savage. Sha-Chi boils through his body, his skin burns red, and black smoke rises from his flesh. Freed from the Saw, he seems to have broken free of a shackle.
He unleashes years of pain and rage, never noticing that the hood hiding his severed neck has fallen away. He has even forgotten that he is headless. Perhaps as long as he does not realize it, he will never fall.
When Soul finally defeats him, his body crashes onto the ice and his empty neck stares back from the reflection below. A piercing cold suddenly fills him. He has not felt cold in years, having spent all this time in a haze.
So even without a head, one can still live? The thought comes to him only at the very end. Death follows before he can wonder any further.
