How to beat The Hunt, Hunter of the Order
Our strategy, built from the fight's numbers, followed by the game's own codex entry.
- Parry the blue flashes: 5 of The Hunt, Hunter of the Order's 18 attacks flash blue before they land, and a timed parry stops them.
- Dodge the red flashes: 2 attacks flash red. They can't be parried, so dodge through them instead of blocking.
- The tightest tell is Hook Barrage Critical Art: only 0.28s from the flash to the hit, so react to the flash, not the swing.
- Bring Lightning: it deals 30% more damage to The Hunt, Hunter of the Order.
- Shock builds up 30% faster on The Hunt, Hunter of the Order.
- The Hunt, Hunter of the Order's Sha-Chi bar is 1,500: perfect parries and Guard Break attacks drain it, and an empty bar opens the boss to a finisher.
Lightning is The Hunt's clear weakness. It deals 30% more damage and Shock builds 30% faster, while Fire and Poison are resisted by 30%, Burn, Poison and Bleed build 30% slower, and Blood Burst builds 60% slower. His 1,500 base Sha-Chi is low and has no special resistances, so steady Parries and Standard Combos will Guard-Break him quickly.
According to the codex, he races across sheer cliffs on a pair of chained sickles, lashing out with the chains at range and pulling himself into the air to evade incoming attacks. Stay patient rather than chasing him. His level in the Prologue is not recorded; base HP is 8,000.
Beating him yields Sanguine, a weapon worth trying early. He returns in Weeping Creek Valley as The Hunt, Sixfold Scythe (boss #7) with the same resistance profile, so a Lightning setup pays off twice.

The Hunt, Hunter of the Order lore
The codex entry the game unlocks for The Hunt, Hunter of the Order.
In-game codexAmong the killers tasked with hunting down traitors, The Hunt is by far the most bloodthirsty and unhinged. Armed with a pair of chained sickles, he races and swings across sheer cliffs with terrifying speed, pursuing his prey like a shadow. At close range, he bears down with vicious sickle strikes, each aimed to kill, or uses the chains to pull himself into the air and evade incoming attacks. At range, he lashes out with the chains to keep his foes in check, making his attacks nearly impossible to anticipate.
The Order never lets its traitors escape, and The Hunt never lets his prey escape. He has no desire for fame or fortune. The thrill of the kill is all the reward he needs.
Those who struggle hardest to survive often make the most worthwhile prey.
