The cosmos is filled with mysteries and wonders beyond reckoning. Yet above all stands the greatest anomaly, neither star nor moon, neither cloud nor mist. Wherever it passes, the celestial order falters, the courses of the heavens drift astray, and the firmament grows dim.

Ancient sages knew only that it spread across the vault of heaven without end. None could fathom how it came to be, nor where its source lay. Thus, they marked it upon the star charts and named it the Blight.
