Fortune and misfortune go hand in hand, and what reaches its height must one day decline. One day, Pang Sheng was matching skills with a Wulin fighter when a spear pierced straight through his chest.

A wandering practitioner happened to pass by. Remarking that the young man was fated to have a connection with the Lady, he took a piece of fine wood and carved it into human form. He placed Pang Sheng’s heart inside, then fashioned a mask in Pang Sheng’s likeness and set it upon the wooden man’s face. Moments later, the wooden man suddenly opened its eyes and rose to its feet, looking even more vigorous than Pang Sheng had in life!

Pang Sheng’s return from death was all thanks to the protection of the Lady of the Veil. Whenever such wonders occur, one should know that the Lady truly exists between heaven and earth and must be treated with reverence.
