Ethans Past Recording

0:00My name is Ethan Cane. I am the sheriff—I was a sheriff.

0:05I lead a group of survivors in the suburb.

0:10I am recording this as part of a reconnaissance team.

0:16We are investigating the Solar Facility.

0:20People have been disappearing here.

0:24We observed strange lights in the sky one night.

0:29We have come across abandoned campsites, belongings scattered—even clothes—no trace of their owners.

0:00Like they just walked away.

0:00We are moving North, towards the warehouse.

Message from Anders, the guide.

0:00Rook! Rook... you... hear me?

0:03Rook!

0:05Ah, shit! Anders? What the hell just happened?

0:09The bridge collapsed. You’re damn lucky you made it. Not everybody was, by the looks of it.

0:16You did.

0:18And a handful of others up here. Down there? Looks like you’re the only one.

0:24Just my luck indeed.

0:27Don’t let it run out. Get moving, get a fire going, keep warm. Remember the drill? Essentials, Rook!

0:34Sure.

0:36I’d throw you a weapon, but our supplies went down with you.

0:40See if you can salvage anything.

0:42If not, it’s back to basics.

Revela: Anders Sadik

Anders gives some pointers how to survive.

0:00You still got your journal?

0:02The schematics?

0:03Makeshift tools and a bow, handcrafted with love.

0:08There’s a hut up ahead. You might find something useful there as well. Careful! Don’t let your guard down!

0:17From where you are, all roads lead to Horizon.

0:21Roads?

0:23Generously speaking. You can’t miss it.

0:27You’re not coming?

0:30Not yet. We’ve got wounded up here. They won’t make it down.

0:37You’re staying with them?

0:38I’m their guide too. I’ll follow. After we’ve set up a proper shelter over by the tunnel. You go ahead.

0:47I can help!

0:49Not this time. We’ll meet in Horizon. Get some spiced wine cooking for me and a crispy roast.

0:57Anders?

1:02... Horizon...

1:07Anders!

1:08Too far away. He’s busy now anyway.

1:12I should continue.

Another recording from Ethan Cane about some action in a warehouse

0:00We found the first sign of life at the warehouse.

0:05Friendly faces, for once.

0:10They were unsettled by the disappearances as well but cannot explain them either.

0:15I talked at length with their doctor, Sonnenberg.

0:20He suspects hypothermia as the main reason why people might behave irrationally.

0:25Besides, the trenches used to be a war zone. Who knows what kind of weapons they deployed.

New information about that guy who is looking for his wife

0:00I had hoped that when I returned, I might find Helen waiting for me at home…

0:06I was wrong.

0:08I will try the Solar Facility next. It was our little hideaway.

0:14If I don't find her there…

The truth

0:07Basement jumpscare!

Final recording from Brian after the trace gets lost

0:00Hi Connie. YES! I really wanna go with you. House Camp is soooooo boring!

0:04I'm leaving this here, gonna prepare my backpack for a few days trip and gonna meet you here tomorrow.

0:13And.. it's gonna be so cool to finally see you!

0:17I'm gonna miss mum and dad, but I'm sure they will be proud of me once I'm back!

Cabin lodgers acting weird

0:07Scary!

0:00Nine and a half years since the Permafrost...Three months since my unit left and abandoned the bunker.

0:07For the Riches of South...

0:09But I ain't leaving.......Not without my sweet daughter, who sleeps deeply in Slumber Project.

0:15Once she wakes up, we will head to the Hunter's Glade in the South-East!

0:19Ethan Cane, the sheriff, will guide us to the House Camp, a sanctuary for those who are striving to remain human, instead of becoming a... Scavenger.

Last recording from Ethan Cane

0:00My name is... My name... Ethan. I... I have a daughter. Her name...

0:02Her name...

0:10Her name is Robyn.

0:15Get to her! Find her! Tell her...

0:20It's Sonnenberg! It's all his doing!

0:23He's a madman! He's...

0:00The laboratory! Cages! The disappearances—he experiments on people!

0:00I have proof!

0:00He must be stopped!

Last info about that guy who is looking for his wife

0:03Are you recording this?

0:06Yeah, go ahead!

0:12What are you doing here?

0:14Is that Helen?

0:17Helen!

0:20Leave her alone! She has done nothing to you!

0:24Please! Leave her alone!

0:27Frank, you're delusional! This thing isn't your wife!

0:32Forget it! We tried. Let’s get out of here! You can’t reason with him.

0:44What have they done to you... my dear Helen...

0:50I love you... isn’t that enough?

0:55Wait! What's that? Your face... This isn't your face! My Helen is perfect!

1:04You aren't my Helen!

Last Message from Dead Tribals

0:00I... I'm so sorry. They've told me to not reveal... who I am.

0:06Just please, don't blame yourself for all of this... It's all my fault. I could've played it out... UGH... differently...

0:13I... I will always be your... "walking blizzard".

Recording found near dead body

0:00I... I can’t go on like this…

0:02You're still here, with me, always, Connie…

0:06This was our favorite place… right?

0:08We’d pitch a tent here... spend the night staring at that damned moon…

0:13I wish we could... together... just one more time…

0:18I miss you... so much.

Connie's disturbing message to Anna.

0:00See, Anna? Do you see it now? How the Moon calls the lost souls to us?

0:07And soon, more will follow. Then you’ll be all alone. But.. isn’t that what you wanted all along?

A recording is signed "From Connie".

0:00You found it. Thought you would. You’re SO good at this! Bet no one even noticed you leaving...

0:07Next clue? Find the place where all the kids should have been.

Another recording from Connie.

0:00Look how empty it is... I don't think there are any other kids our age.

0:07And they probably wouldn't let you play here anyway, right?

0:12Next clue? Find the roof with the lunar view. Just look around, there's a great spot nearby!

The recordings from Connie gets more and more cryptic...

0:00Beautiful view, isn't it?

0:04Just look around. The world is so big and you're stuck in this small boring camp. It's just not fair!

0:11Next clue? The last one!

0:15Between House Camp and the Solars stands a crumbling ruin.

Connie tries to convince Brian to leave. And it seemed to work.

0:00You've made it! Amazing job.

0:04Look, I've heard what you've said about your dad, how controling he is, about his... drinking.

0:11So I'm giving you a choice: I will be waiting for you here every night for the next three days. And If you're ready you can join me. Let's see the world outside House Camp, together!

Scavenger named Effie left a recording for someone from another group.

0:00Hello, it's Effie! I'm leaving this for you John... Just in case....

0:04I don't know, I'm just having a bad feelings about all this. Our group is doing fine so far, but... Listen John... I...

0:11Gear up people, we're heading out!

0:12I gotta go, I really hope you come back safely from Hunter's Glade. And if anything happens... meet me at the House Camp.

Scavenger named John left a recording for someone from another group.

0:00Logan is strongly against leaving these recordings...but I'm leaving this for Effie.

0:04So.. Umm.. After he forced you to go with the other group to the Seamster House... I just had this terrible feeling in my gut.

0:13I don't think we've been apart this long since I met you. Umm... Anyway...

0:17Remember about our House Camp deal and... stay safe Effie.

Martha's son tried to left her a message...

0:00Hey mom... I'm going for a really dangerous mission... and um... wanted to tell You...

0:08What Im trying to say is... this colony... I just...

0:14What are you doing there?

0:17Nothing mom. *clutter, things falling on the floor*

0:23You're unbelievable. Blizzard in a person form!

0:28Green-eyed blizzard! *laughing*

The pilot of the crashed helicopter hints a larger story behind the accident...

0:00I knew from the start they were lying... but I agreed to it anyway...

0:06The answers are still there... on a way to the mall... near the bridge...

People were waiting to get into the Slumber Project

0:00How long it's gonna take?! We've got children here!

0:05*Please, remain calm! Due to the worsening weather we strongly advice to turn back and seek shelter elswhere!*

0:14*people shouting over each other*

0:17*We are still admiting new Sleepers but we won't guarantee the place among The Slumber Project! I repeat...^

As the conditions worsens and turning back seems impossible, people are getting ready for the worst.

0:00*infant crying in the background*

0:05Danny, don't play with that thing!

0:11Just leave him be and listen to me! We won't be able to return now... not on foot. At least not... with the children. Danny, maybe, but Mina won't survive this.

0:16What... what are you suggesting?! If you're thinking that I'm gonna...

0:19No! Listen... One guy over there told me there's a soldier that want's to help for the youngest ones... He agreed to smuggle them into the Slumber Project!

0:26*Sighs* Can we... trust him?

0:30We don't have a choice.

The soldier promise to take the children into The Slumber Project

0:00Look... I... this doesn't feel right.

0:05Come on, we need to do it. Just record few words for her, like he suggested.

0:11Ok, ok... *deep sigh* Hey, my darling. I... I will return for You. I promise! I love You. So SO much!

0:16*baby cries* I love you, Mina.

0:19Is that her?

0:22Yes. Her name's...

0:24Don't tell me. As long as it's on tape, it's ok. Now, hand me the baby... we don't have too much time.

Moment before disaster.

0:00So, he figured it out... of course he did! And then he had Dan, of all people, knock this ladder down! I’m fucked. Fuck, fuck, fuck!

0:08Well, no point dwelling on it now... I need to find a way out. It’s slippery, but I might make it. Just gotta go slow and steady...

0:16Then I’m heading to Dan’s. Pretty sure he went to the other tower near Military Convoy. Gonna kick his ass first, then we’ll talk.

0:22Alright... let’s do this!

A farewell message to the traitor.

0:00Well, hello there! It's me, your favorite boss. As you've probably noticed by now, the ladder is gone. Sorry about that! I may also have forgotten to tell you that the area crawls with wolves and there is a blizzard coming. I left you a gun, but I've only got one bullet to spare!

0:13So, I guess if you're waiting for someone to come along and help you, it might take a while! Oh, and thank for helping with the other guy. I figured you two had been double-crossing me for a while now.

0:23Making you betray and stab him in the back feels like a proper karmic justice, don't you think? Anyway, enjoy the view!

What an odd recording. Who left it here?

0:00The moon sees all.

0:07The moon is watching!

0:12It will all be revealed.

Guy is looking for his wife

0:00Please, I need help!

0:03My beloved Helen is missing!

0:05I've been searching for her everywhere.

0:08But I haven't seen her since that morning...

0:11Please! If anybody finds this message, find me at the warehouse. I need help with this search!

0:01… just stay calm, okay? Mommy’s here too. It’ll just be a nap, sweetheart.

0:04Will I dream of the ocean?

0:08Yeah. You remember the trip to the coast, last summer? It will be exactly like that. Sun, beach, water. We’ll dream it together.

0:12Stop lying to him! He’s old enough for the truth.

0:16He’s a child. Let him hold onto something.

0:20My dad says the frost will be inside before long. The seals aren’t holding like they should.

0:24Your dad works the checkpoint, right?

0:28Yeah. He’s out there… still. Told me ‘cause we’re the ones who still believe this might work.

0:32They told me my husband would follow soon… after getting us in. He forced them to take us.

0:36He’s out there… He’s…

0:38Is the snow still falling outside?

0:42Yeah... Like it always will.

0:46We’re going to wake up different, aren’t we?

0:01The cryo-pods are holding… barely. Temperature’s fluctuating again.

0:04Let them fail. Let them all freeze in their dreams.

0:08We stay because someone has to. Someone has to watch over them.

0:12There are children in there.

0:16Maybe one day someone finds this, finds them—and knows we tried.

0:20Tell them we weren’t monsters. Tell them we didn’t all follow Kain.

0:24...Yeah. And tell them that those with decency weren't the ones that... survived.

0:01Awaken, little stars… the night is calling you back.

0:04You are safe now. The old world is gone, covered by a shroud of snow...

0:08Like rats leaving a sinking ship…

0:12Today, you are awakened. Freed from the hollow dreams of men…

0:16We will teach you the truth. It will shield you from the cold...

0:20Endure the Permafrost, Slumber Children—and guard this place!

0:01You feel it too, don’t you? Something’s off tonight.

0:04Command’s gone dark, Kiddo. Half the checkpoints are unmanned...

0:08Like rats leaving a sinking ship…

0:12They’ve already written this place off. Move assets south, cut the losses here.

0:16What about the civilians? The families in cryo?

0:20Not our concern anymore.

0:24My sister’s in Pod Wing C… She trusts me to keep her safe.

0:28Crystal Moonlight. It’s coming down on us...

0:32Kiddo, are you there? Kiddo... God...

0:01Citizens, pioneers of the storm’s edge—welcome! You are the brave, the chosen few...

0:04Within these walls, you and your families will sleep until the thaw...

0:08Rest easy in the certainty that the Slumber Project was devised by the finest minds...

0:12Give it a minute. Let them bask in the lie first.

0:16They think they’re first-class passengers on a lifeboat... This is the trial run.

0:20They think they’re first-class passengers on a lifeboat... This is the trial run.

0:24The real Bunker is south. Our real investments are already there...

0:28We'll make sure history won't remember their names. But they’ll remember mine.

Ethan's message to his daughter Robyn, left at the top of Hunter's Glade.

0:00Hi, Robyn. I was in the area and thought I’d drop by, but I heard you’re out hunting. I need to head back to the Solars... um, we’re trying to set up the communication again. It might take a while, but there's nothing we can't fix.

0:13I just wanted to say that another big storm is coming, and Sonenberg says it might be a long one, so gather as many rations as you can. And... be careful.

0:21And listen, this place is impressive, but it's... vulnerable. Maybe you should think about setting up a camp hidden just... beyond the horizon, I guess. Something to consider.

0:31Anyway, later, kiddo!

Rook Self spech City Mall

0:00...

0:03Wait...is that a flare?

0:07What if it’s Icarus…?

0:13I have to find out. Now.

Final recording from Liam

0:00I have no right to miss you.

0:02I have no right to feel sorry for myself.

0:06I have no right to just live on like nothing happened.

0:08I took everything from you!

0:13This is the only way.

0:18I deserve death.

0:22This is justice!

0:00This is Ethan Cane, House Camp Sheriff. I have been asked by the military unit to provide information and shelter to those awakened from the Slumber Project.

0:09My main base of operations is in the Hunter's Glade, near your current position.

0:14You should be able to see it from the road; it's a red observation tower rising above the treetops.

0:19From there, I will show you the way to the House Camp, where we have plenty of resources and will welcome any new pair of hands to help.

0:27But for now, craft the Building tool - you will definitely need it. Good luck!

0:00Dammit. I tried everything I can to protect the House Camp society as their sheriff.

0:04To anyone who found this.

0:07The House Camp is compromised. It's location has been disclosed to one of the worst scavengers bands in Metropolis - The Moon Cult.

0:13Get away as fast as you can.

0:16You can find useful equipment in the supply room, and radio on the desk where you found this recording.

0:21The former House Camp society moved to the Solar Facility.

0:26Look for the Solar Tower and meet us there.

0:28Hopefully, it will be the place that becomes a haven for all outsiders and former citizens.

0:34Ethan Cane, the former sheriff of House Camp.

Horizon's mechanic has left the message to the others. Maybe he can fix the snowmobile at some point?

0:00Hey guys, I had to head over to the Urban District to pick up a few things, so I’m leaving you to it.

0:06You’ve got the tools, and I trust you can get that snowmobile up and running while I’m gone.

0:12Everyone’s really counting on us.

0:16We promised Robyn we’d fix it, so let’s not disappoint the boss, alright?

0:01What a joke. The Moon Cult was supposed to be my salvation. And they…

0:05Magpie... I should’ve protected you. Not dragged you into this.

0:09I found your last recording, but it’s for my ears alone. Screw the rest of the world!

0:13...

0:15No more messages. No more waiting.

0:18I’ll blow this whole place sky-high. Be with you soon.

0:21If by some miracle I survive this... I’ll head to the place where we used to play. Back in the days. Before the Permafrost…

0:01You shouldn’t have come here alone, Blackbird.

0:03I brought something... Look.

0:06That’s... where’d you get that much cash?

0:09Scavenged, bartered, saved. I thought... maybe we could just run. Leave this frozen dump behind.

0:13Always the romantic.

0:15I mean it. We can start over somewhere else.

0:18Black... I… can’t. Not yet.

0:21Kite...

0:23The others. Harrier, Magpie, even Shrike... if there’s a chance, I have to try.

0:27Where should I wait?

0:30Where we all used to meet, years ago.

0:01It’s Gannet’s gun, isn’t it?

0:03Yeah... no one wants to say it, but we all know.

0:06We shouldn’t have left him alone!

0:09We did what we could. He made his choice. With the gun he himself made.

0:13I envy this kind of control over your own life.

0:17And Shrike? Gone. Just like that. No note, nothing.

0:20He always talked about cracking under pressure, but I didn’t think he’d actually snap.

0:24Enough! The Urban Birds have to stand together now more than ever.

0:28Maybe I’ll just leave too. Heard the Moon Cult’s recruiting. Their base is up the construction site.

0:34Harrier, don’t be stupid.

0:36What’s stupid is sticking around here waiting to die. Urban Birds, more like Urban Victims.

0:40Don’t leave. Please.

0:43...

0:47Look... let’s meet at the supermarket tomorrow. Try to regroup. Harrier, just... think about it, alright? Harrier?

Secret message for Chuck

0:00Hi babe, just wanted to say that I've thinking about you whole day, couldn't focus at all! Anyway, meet me tonight on the south balcony.

0:07It has the best view of the sky. And please, don't worry about my job, I think Amalie's being little paranoid about the armor... Gotta go, see you soon!

Wounded hunter

0:00Ugh... fucking Moon Cultists...

0:03Damn them all...

0:07Where's that bandage...?

0:10Shit... it's not here...

0:14Ugh... this is my last chance...

0:18*flare gun fires*

0:22Maybe someone will see it...
