The Squire's Sorrow

The Squire's Sorrow is a Dark and Darker quest assigned by the Squire merchant, part of the To Become a True Adventurer quest line. The Frost Mountain adventure was a complete disaster. I barely made it out alive, and only thanks to the companions who were with me. I lost all my gear too... the ones you worked so hard to find for me. I'm such a fool... You don’t have to say anything to comfort me. My uncle was right. Maybe someone like me just isn’t meant to be an adventurer... What? You want to help me get new equipment again? No, please, don’t trouble yourself because of me. Adventurer? Adventurer, wait! There are 3 objectives to complete: Bring 2× Accessory (Uncommon); Bring 2× Armor (Rare); Bring 2× Weapon (Rare). All progress requires a successful extraction — items retrieved or kills made during a failed run do not count toward quest completion. Once every objective is fulfilled, return to Squire in the lobby to turn in the quest and receive the reward. This quest requires completing The Squire's Reality before it becomes available from Squire. Completing The Squire's Sorrow rewards 125 Gold, Random Epic Armor, 125 XP. The quest is completed in Ice Cavern, Goblin Caves, Ruins or Ship Graveyard. Merchant quests in Dark and Darker are one of the most consistent gold and experience sources in the game, independent of loot luck on the Trading Post. Completing the full Squire quest chain unlocks higher reward tiers and increases merchant affinity, which can affect prices and open additional quest tiers in future seasons.
