Forged From Ruin

Forged From Ruin is a Dark and Darker quest assigned by the Armourer merchant, part of the Second Chances quest line. The world doesn’t give second chances. Trust me, I’ve seen it take everything from people. Cobalt is a rare metal—used to forge weapons and armor that can help one survive in otherwise dire situations. Too many adventurers and warriors come to me thinking they can rely on luck, and they end up as nothing but wreckage. Bring me the ore, and we’ll craft something with strength that won’t break when everything else does. The objective is to bring 1× cobalt ores. All progress requires a successful extraction — items retrieved or kills made during a failed run do not count toward quest completion. Once every objective is fulfilled, return to Armourer in the lobby to turn in the quest and receive the reward. This quest requires completing Is it you? before it becomes available from Armourer. Completing Forged From Ruin rewards 50 Gold, 4x Arcane Essence, 50 XP. The quest is completed in Ice Cavern, Goblin Caves, Ruins or Ship Graveyard. Merchant quests in Dark and Darker are one of the most consistent gold and experience sources in the game, independent of loot luck on the Trading Post. Completing the full Armourer quest chain unlocks higher reward tiers and increases merchant affinity, which can affect prices and open additional quest tiers in future seasons. The Second Chances chain provides a structured progression path through the Armourer quest tree, and finishing each quest in order is the fastest route to the higher value objectives later in the line.
