Ciprian – my dearest friend*,
I'll have to leave Parlita for a few days. I'm heading for the mountains, to reach the Balaur's peak!
Yes, I know what you must be thinking now. Dear Iancu fell on his big thick head and went mad, right? I'd bet a hundred denarii that you'd try to stop me... And sorry, my mate, but I can't have that now. You mean well, I know, but this time it's just too important. I'll explain everything when I'm back, cross my fucking heart.
Oh, and think about that: if what they say about the monster is true, I'll become a hero, right? The bold adventurer, who slayed the Beast of Balaur! Finally, after all these years, the folk of Parlita won't have to fear the mountains! Sounds good, doesn't it?
