Skills FAQ
What are the three skill trees?
Swordmastery, Witchcraft, Vampirism. Swordmastery works at any hour; Witchcraft is usable by Day and Vampirism by Night. All three draw from the same experience bar and skill-point pool.
Do I need manuals to learn skills?
For Swordmastery and Witchcraft, yes: techniques come from manuals found on soldiers and bandits, in ruins and haunted places, or bought from fencers and practitioners. 34 catalogued skills currently list a manual. Vampirism unlocks by raising corruption instead.
Are skill points shared between trees?
Yes. One experience bar feeds one pool of skill points that you can spend in any tree, so a hybrid build competes with itself for the same points.
Does learning a skill cost time?
No. Perks are paid for with skill points and a minimum character level — the game’s trait data carries no time cost at all. Story time is spent by quests and activities instead, which is what the 30-Day Planner totals.
