Journal Entry: Primordial Heart
These strange hearts contain the lingering essence of a nature spirit. A gentle heartbeat, waiting to be reborn to a world free of Imaru’s corruption.
Ashenfall’s nature spirits are creatures of the land, possessing myriad forms and shapes as dictated by the wild anima flowing around them. In Fellhollow their favoured form is that of the terrorbird, a beast favoured by gnome riders on the mainland.
As Imaru’s hunger infected the land, it began to leech away the vitality that kept these creatures healthy and strong. Their forests waned, from great acres of willow trees, down to a handful of groves, the last places their power would reach.
As the land dies, so too do the spirits that protect it. As creatures of the endless cycle, they must be hunted, die and be reborn to return to strength. Yet, there are no hunters in Fellhollow any more. No great beasts roaming the land to slay these gentle spirits.
So, you must be that hunter. You must kill the spirit, so that it may be reborn when Fellhollow thrives once more. How ever many years from now that may be.
