Journal Entry: Studded Leather Cowl
Reinforced leather, with metal plates woven throughout. The plates rest underneath leather coverings, with metal studs to hold them in place, giving the armour its name. Favoured by scouts and hunters for the mixture of agility and defence.
Most Wild Knights favoured studded leather armour over the more durable metal plate. Moving through the forests required as much grace as guts, and stealth is always a hunter’s friend.
When they were brought into the war against the garou, the leather armour proved less popular at first. While durable and agile, leather has a strong and distinctive smell. The garou’s olfactory senses were much stronger than humans were prepared for, capable of tracking down the leathery smell from a disturbing range. Wind magic helped to keep the scent away from them, but it wasn’t enough to eradicate it.
