Overview
Ahri
Electrocute
Ultimate Hunter
A small guide for new players wanting to learn Ahri.I've been an OTP Ahri for almost 4 years with 61% winrate on Emerald last season on EUW and 65% on EUNE on Diamond. This guide i hope it helps the players understand that Ahri's main role can vary and not only being an assassin depending on the situation.Playing her right could make you carry the game and even 1v9.But as always, her laning phase and early game is sketchy as her damage potential is low compared to other mages or assassins until she reaches her powerspike Blackfire Torch/Malignance/Luden (I honestly played with Luden only twice and it's not suiting her very well, limiting her role in teamfights drastically) and her biggest powerspike Lich Bane as second item, giving her the damage potential to one shot ADC and Mid Lane if you are ahead of them.

How Ahri fares against these champions, with the author's tips.
AkaliEvenBully Akali in the laning phase, respecting her damage output and spacing well against her E and W engage
LissandraHardRespect her damage output, punish her when on cd,space very well as she can one shot you lvl 4-5 after E engage

ZedEvenRemember when he ults,he will always appear behind you from the last shadow he formed so you can charm him out of his ult and burst him
AzirEasyAzir is all for dps reliant on his E and Q.Respect his damage output by spacing well and punishing him from mid range, your damage output is higher.

DianaEvenSpace well to dodge her Q's as that is her main source of damage.Bully her when her Q is on CD and if she E's without landing a Q,you can disengage with E
Guide
Laning and early game
During the laning phase your main objective as Ahri isn't to bully the enemy laner.Remember you're not a lane bully.Your main objective is to have lane prio.Until you reach lvl 6,keep the wave on your part of the tower and push only when you have enough vision to do so,Ahri can die easily on ganks without her ultimate. After lvl 6,your main objective is the map not the lane.Push as much as you can as Ahri have a minion wave breakpoint on lvl 6-7 depending on which items you get first where her Q one shots the casters.Push the wave into the enemy tower and then ward (most of time you'll want to pink ward bot bush) the bushes to set up for either trapping, either roaming depending on the occasion.
Mid game
Your main objective as Ahri is to assassinate the backline quickly and then get out to safety with your ultimate. After acquiring Lich Bane as second item, your damage potential increased drastically being able to take 80% of hp from the squishy champions. You'll want to take Rabadon or Shadowflame as third item, depending on the situation if the team has MR or too many bruisers,an occasional item that can be your third item could be either Zhonya (best working against Mel and Fizz) or Cosmic Drive if the team comp is formed mainly from tanks and bruisers than Ahri's kill threat threshold minimises and you'll want speed and haste for that matter as much as hp aswell. On the objective fights,Ahri isn't very good at dealing damage to dragon or baron, her main objective is keeping or stalling the enemy team from reaching the objective.Doing so a sweeper is necessary so you can trap the bush you know they're gonna commit to come and burst them right away, disengaging until the next rotation is available.
Late game and teamfights
On the late game Ahri is no longer the assassin she could've been during early and mid game as she stops scaling after she is full build.Ahri's main role during late game is to trap the bushes, taking control over the map and bursting the champions while disengaging. She should be on the side lanes most of time to push the lane where her team is preparing to commit for an objective.During teamfights, you need to look and target their most valuable player from the team (most of time is their mid laner or ADC) and catch them with your charm so your team can engage. You will be the main peel for your team with your charm, your E can and will turn the teamfights into your favour if used right.Don't focus tanks and bruisers, focus on the damage dealers as always,on their backline while your team is focusing the frontline, that is your main objective.
Tips and tricks
Ahri isn't a melee champion, don't use you ultimate to engage in melee combat against melee champions, you'll lose.
Flash+E in the same time will catch most of time unsuspecting enemy champions and give you an edge to kill them. Most of time you'll want to use this combo only when they are on death threat threshold.
E+R is another tricky combo that will mask your E as you dash into the enemy laner.Although hard to master as you need to predict where the enemy laner will be so you can land it,because if you don't land it,it's gonna be a hard losing trade. It's a high risk high reward trick
Casting your W while out of range of minions and then approaching, your foxfire will always target the secured kill first even if they are 1hp.

I took a bad trade and now the lane is messed up.
It's alright,it happens sometimes to force a trade not getting it your own way.If you cannot push the wave with your Q as you are too low health, the safest choice is to recall.Losing a wave of minions is better than giving your laner 300 gold with your death.
Facing a Galio is a hard matchup?
Galio is an anti-mage tank designed to counter mages but is extremely vulnerable during laning phase.Ahri needs to bully Galio and threaten him everytime she gets the occasion, not allowing him to scale.Best items when running into tanks are Blackfire Torch and Liandry with Deathfire Touch as main rune.Hold your charm always to charm him when he tries to engage you with his E,cancelling him and giving you the moment to threaten a kill.
I fed and now i'm useless to my team
Actually...No,you're not.I personally had my fair share of lost lanes against counters and in the mid game came back and carried the game. You lost the lane, that's alright,it happens. You need to keep your mental together and focus on the midgame. As you lost your lane, you have quite a disadvantage meaning that you didn't reach your powerspike then you will not use Ahri as a burst mage assassin. You will use her as utility.Take control over the map, trap bushes in order to poke the enemy champions that is going for a play (always with a sweeper or pink ward) and stick around with your team during objectives, seeking to pick the backline with your charm so your team can focus him.
