Its spikes react to its emotions. A dearly cherished Needoll is something one may instinctively want to embrace. But more often than not, it ends in a tragic accident.
Needoll has an even base stat spread in Palworld: 75 HP, 100 attack and 70 defense all sit close to the middle of the Paldex, with no stat far enough from average to build around. Its damage is melee-weighted — 100 melee attack against 85 ranged — so Needoll does its best work up close and loses value the further away the fight happens. No base stat on Needoll clears the Paldex median; Melee Attack at 100 is the closest it comes, which puts the whole case for catching it on its work suitability and its breeding combinations.
Elementally, Needoll is Grass: it takes extra damage from Fire attacks and deals extra damage to Ground Pals — the matchup that decides most of its Alpha and tower fights. It is cheap to keep. A food value of 2 is one of the lowest in the Paldex, so Needoll works a full shift without draining the feed box the way a large Pal does.
Needoll covers 3 of the game's 12 work suitabilities — Planting, Gathering and Transporting — and Planting at level 3 is the one worth assigning it to. That ranks Needoll #16 of the 45 Pals with Planting, so it will do the job, but it is not the Pal you keep the station for. It also holds Gathering at level 3, high enough to be worth assigning rather than leaving as filler.

The thickest band runs through the north-east of the map around X 32k, Y 316k, with looser pockets elsewhere.
Wild Needoll spawn between level 31 and level 36, so the ones you meet late in a run hit noticeably harder than the first you catch. It also has one fixed Alpha arena, marked with a diamond on the map — that Alpha respawns, so it is a repeatable source.
