From Iron to Diamond, the average final level rises from 7.95 to 8.28 while unspent gold drops from 18.2 to 8.1: better players turn gold into levels and units instead of dying with it. At game end their boards hold 1.50 units costing 4 or more (vs 0.86) and 1.06 3-star units (vs 1.28), for a board value of 46.8 (vs 49.9, cost × star value). In 2,785 recorded lobbies, players who finished top 4 were level 6.9 with 65 HP at stage 4-1, against level 6.9 and 42 HP for the bottom 4. Average placement and top 4 rate are identical in every rank by design (each lobby has one player per place), so these stats are the ones that actually separate the ladder.

TFT Rank Benchmarks FAQ – Patch 16.20
What level should I be at each stage in TFT?
Players who finish top 4 average level 5.8 at stage 3-2, level 7.1 at 4-2 and level 7.8 at 5-1, based on 2,785 MetaBot-recorded ranked lobbies in Set 18.
How much gold do high-elo TFT players keep?
Diamond players finish with 8.1 unspent gold on average versus 18.2 in Iron. Higher-ranked players spend their economy on levels and rolls instead of ending the game with gold.
Why is average placement the same in every TFT rank?
Every lobby has exactly one player in each place from 1st to 8th, so any group of whole lobbies averages 4.5 with a 50% top 4 rate. Comparing ranks only makes sense on stats like level, gold and board value, measured here across 4,048,940 ranked games.
How much HP do top 4 players have in TFT?
At stage 4-1, players who go on to finish top 4 have a median of 65 HP versus 42 HP for bottom 4 players, a 23 HP gap that keeps growing every stage after.
What do Diamond TFT players do differently?
Compared with Iron, Diamond players reach level 8.28 instead of 7.95, keep 8.1 gold instead of 18.2, field 1.06 3-star units instead of 1.28 and play 1.50 units costing 4 or more instead of 0.86.
