Every TFT shop slot rolls a cost tier first (using the level-based odds in the table above), then draws a random unit from the shared pool for that tier. Each 1-cost unit has 30 copies in the pool, while 4-costs have 10 and 5-costs only 9 — and every copy held by you or an opponent is removed from the pool, which is why contested units are so much harder to hit. At level 8, each slot has a 30% chance to be a 4-cost; at level 9, 5-costs reach 15%. The calculator above accounts for all of this, including pool depletion as you buy copies during your rolldown.

TFT Set 17 Shop Odds FAQ

What level should I roll for 4-cost units in TFT?

Level 8 is the standard rolldown level for 4-costs: each shop slot has a 30% chance of showing a 4-cost, up from just 10% at level 7. Rolling at level 9 keeps similar 4-cost odds (33%) while adding 5-costs to your shops.

How many copies of each unit are in the TFT pool?

The shared pool holds 30 copies of each 1-cost, 25 of each 2-cost, 18 of each 3-cost, 10 of each 4-cost, and 9 of each 5-cost. Copies owned by any player are removed from the pool, so heavily contested units are significantly harder to hit.

How does the rolldown calculator work?

The calculator runs thousands of simulated shops using the real shop odds for your level and the live pool state you enter (your copies plus copies other players hold). Unlike simple probability formulas, the simulation removes each copy you hit from the pool, so the odds get slightly worse as you buy — exactly like a real rolldown.

How much gold does a rolldown cost in TFT?

Each shop refresh costs 2 gold and shows 5 units. A typical 50-gold rolldown buys 25 shops (125 shop slots). The calculator shows the exact gold you need for a 50%, 80%, or 95% chance to hit your target, so you can plan your econ before committing.
