Books & Letters FAQ
What are readables?
Readables are the books, letters, notices and journals Coen can pick up and read in The Blood of Dawnwalker. The catalogue holds 811: 345 books and 466 papers.
How are readables grouped?
By where the game places them: Pickups (170), World loot (79), Points of interest (227), Quest documents (192), Character stories (140), Other (3). Pickups lie loose in the world, world loot comes from chests and bodies, point-of-interest and quest readables belong to a place or a quest, and character notes are tied to a specific person.
Where do I find them?
Loose in houses, camps and ruins, on bodies, in chests and as quest hand-outs. 554 readables exist as an inventory item, and their pages link to that item and its sources.
Do readables matter for gameplay?
Mostly for the story, but 192 of them belong to quests and several notices and letters reveal where people, loot and enemies are. Reading everything also fills the glossary.
