Gnar Power Spikes (Patch 26.19)
MidWhen Gnar Mid gets stronger, in the order it happens in a typical ranked game: ability unlocks from the most common skill order, item spikes at the median minute players finish them, and the game length Gnar wins most.
- Lv 3All three basic abilities at level 3Gnar's full combo is online — the first point where trading all-in is realistic.
- Lv 6Ultimate rank 1 at level 6The biggest early spike: look for a kill or a roam as soon as Gnar hits it.
- Lv 11Ultimate rank 2 at level 11Lower ultimate cooldown means more fights Gnar can start or win.
- Lv 16Ultimate rank 3 at level 16Lower ultimate cooldown means more fights Gnar can start or win.
Item timings are medians: half of players finish later. Fall behind in farm and every item spike moves back with it.
Gnar Mid Laning Plan
Gnar plays an even lane: no extreme in gold, leads or scaling, so the matchup decides how hard to push. On average Gnar Mid is 147 gold ahead of the lane opponent at 15 minutes and ahead in 56% of games. Gnar averages 1.32 solo kills by 15 minutes.

Play to these strengths

Playing Gnar
- Managing your Rage is very important. Try to time out your transformations so you can get maximum benefit from both forms.
- Position yourself next to walls to bait your enemies into getting stunned by your ultimate.
- Know your strengths! Mini Gnar is fast, squishy, and has high sustained damage. Mega Gnar is slow, tough, and has high burst.
Playing Against Gnar
- Gnar can't gain Rage for 15 seconds after he turns from big to little. Use this chance to engage on his team.
- Gnar's animations and resource bar change as he gets closer to transforming.
- Gnar's ultimate stuns if he hits you into a wall. Be careful when fighting him near one.
