When Talon Support gets stronger, in the order it happens in a typical ranked game: ability unlocks from the most common skill order, item spikes at the median minute players finish them, and the game length Talon wins most.

All three basic abilities at level 3
Talon's full combo is online — the first point where trading all-in is realistic.
Lv 6
Ultimate rank 1 at level 6
The biggest early spike: look for a kill or a roam as soon as Talon hits it.
Lv 11
Ultimate rank 2 at level 11
Lower ultimate cooldown means more fights Talon can start or win.
Lv 16
Ultimate rank 3 at level 16
Lower ultimate cooldown means more fights Talon can start or win.

Item timings are medians: half of players finish later. Fall behind in farm and every item spike moves back with it.

Talon wins 14.5 points more in short games than long ones: group, take objectives and end before the enemy scales.

Playing Talon

You can use Assassin's Path to get behind the enemy and set up for Noxian Diplomacy's melee attack.
Shadow Assault is a powerful escape tool, but can also be offensively used to assault a group.
Remember to pick your target before the fight. Focusing all of Talon's abilities on one target can be very rewarding, but splitting them up between many may leave you helpless.

Playing Against Talon

Talon's attacks are all physical damage. Build armor early to counter his burst damage.
Talon is heavily reliant on Shadow Assault to escape a fight. When it is down he's significantly more vulnerable.
Talon has unrivaled roaming ability. Make sure to keep track of his position or force him to stay in lane by pushing aggressively.
