Yasuo Power Spikes (Patch 26.19)

Support

When Yasuo Support gets stronger, in the order it happens in a typical ranked game: ability unlocks from the most common skill order, item spikes at the median minute players finish them, and the game length Yasuo wins most.

  1. Lv 3
All three basic abilities at level 3
Yasuo's full combo is online — the first point where trading all-in is realistic.
  2. Lv 6
Ultimate rank 1 at level 6
The biggest early spike: look for a kill or a roam as soon as Yasuo hits it.
  3. Lv 11
Ultimate rank 2 at level 11
Lower ultimate cooldown means more fights Yasuo can start or win.
  4. Lv 16
Ultimate rank 3 at level 16
Lower ultimate cooldown means more fights Yasuo can start or win.

Item timings are medians: half of players finish later. Fall behind in farm and every item spike moves back with it.

Yasuo Support Laning Plan

Yasuo plays an even lane: no extreme in gold, leads or scaling, so the matchup decides how hard to push. On average Yasuo Support is 3 gold ahead of the lane opponent at 15 minutes and ahead in 50% of games. Yasuo averages 0.06 solo kills by 15 minutes.

Yasuo Mid and Late Game

What Yasuo does better or worse than other champions after laning, from this patch's ranked games — percentiles where 100 is the highest of every champion.

Play to these strengths

  • Yasuo farms well (percentile 95): keep catching side waves between fights.
  • Side-lane pressure pays: Yasuo rates 91/100 for damage to buildings. Push a side wave while the team holds mid.
  • Yasuo wins 9.2 points more in short games than long ones: group, take objectives and end before the enemy scales.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Vision is a weak spot (8/100): buy Control Wards and sweep before you face-check.

Playing Yasuo

  • Dash through a minion to have Sweeping Blade available to chase your opponent should they flee; Dash directly to your opponent to preserve a minion as your escape route.
  • At level 18, Yasuo's Steel Tempest reaches its Attack Speed cap with 55% Attack Speed from items.
  • Last Breath can be cast on any target that is knocked Airborne, even by one of your allies.

Playing Against Yasuo

  • Steel Tempest is very narrow. Dodge laterally if possible.
  • When Yasuo lands two Steel Tempests in a row, his next will fire a tornado. Watch and listen for the associated sound to prepare to dodge.
  • Yasuo is at his weakest just after he has launched a whirlwind. Engage at that point.
  • Yasuo's shield from Resolve lasts only 2 seconds. Dealing damage to him will trigger it. Wait it out, then engage.
