Minecraft Give Command Generator

Pick an item, a target and enchantments and copy a /give command that works in Java 26.3. It uses the item-component syntax (minecraft:enchantments={…}) that replaced the old NBT tags, so commands from old guides no longer need fixing.

Example commands

Copy-ready 26.x commands built from the game data (every enchantment at its maximum level).

  • Max-enchanted netherite sword/give @p minecraft:netherite_sword[minecraft:enchantments={"minecraft:sharpness":5,"minecraft:looting":3,"minecraft:unbreaking":3,"minecraft:mending":1,"minecraft:sweeping_edge":3,"minecraft:fire_aspect":2}]
  • Max-enchanted netherite pickaxe/give @p minecraft:netherite_pickaxe[minecraft:enchantments={"minecraft:efficiency":5,"minecraft:fortune":3,"minecraft:unbreaking":3,"minecraft:mending":1}]
  • Mending book/give @p minecraft:enchanted_book[minecraft:stored_enchantments={"minecraft:mending":1}]
  • A stack of diamond blocks/give @p minecraft:diamond_block 64

The syntax is /give <target> <item>[<components>] [count]. Components replaced the old {Enchantments:[…]} NBT in 1.20.5, so an enchanted sword is minecraft:diamond_sword[minecraft:enchantments={"minecraft:sharpness":5}]. Enchanted books use stored_enchantments instead; the count can go up to 100 stacks of the item (GiveCommand allows stack size × 100).

Give command FAQ (Java 26.3)

What is the give command syntax in Minecraft?

/give <target> <item>[components] [count], for example /give @p minecraft:diamond 64.

How do you give an enchanted item?

Add the enchantments component: /give @p minecraft:diamond_sword[minecraft:enchantments={"minecraft:sharpness":5}]. Levels above the normal maximum (up to 255) also work.

Why don't old give commands work?

Java 1.20.5 replaced item NBT tags like {Enchantments:[{id:sharpness,lvl:5}]} with components in square brackets. This generator always writes the current syntax.

How do I enable cheats to use /give?

Create the world with cheats on, or use Open to LAN with "Allow Commands" on. On servers you need operator level 2.

Is there a length limit?

Chat accepts 256 characters. Longer commands work in a command block.
