Estilo de juego y arquetipo de Deadpool
All-Rounder / Health-as-Resource
Deadpool can do a bit of everything and buys his best options with health. The skill is knowing which situations are worth paying for, on a bar that all four of your characters are standing on.
The single most important thing to understand about Deadpool in MARVEL Tōkon is the shared Vital Gauge. Most fighting games with a health-cost mechanic charge it to one character. Here, your four fighters share one bar — so every Roman Cancel and every Meat Shield charge is drawn from the same pool your anchor will need later. He is not a character who risks his own life; he is a character who spends the team's.
In exchange he gets an enormous toolbox. His Fourth Wall Attacks are a parallel set of Skills on Medium — Rope-a-Dope reels the opponent in from long range, Lightning Tornado Upper is a fast launcher, Burning Haymaker rides an inflatable orca, Random Bullshit Go! hurls junk from the air — and several of them change behaviour based on which grenade he is holding.
- Twenty-three entries — an option for nearly every situation in the game
- Roman Cancel cuts recovery short after an attack connects, making unsafe things safe
- Meat Shield converts Vital Gauge into Healing Gauge and is unblockable at full charge
- Collateral Damage swings through incoming damage and feeds the Healing Gauge with what he takes
- Death from Above has grounded, additional-input and aerial versions covering three different approaches
- Roman Cancel and Meat Shield spend the SHARED team Vital Gauge
- Twenty-three moves is a genuine memorisation burden before he functions at all
- Faulty Grenade pulls a random type of three, so part of his kit is not plannable
- Fourth Wall Attacks live on Medium, competing with his ordinary Medium Skills for muscle memory
- Highest difficulty on the roster — there is no simplified way to play him
Plan de juego de Deadpool
Deadpool does not have one gameplan — he has a menu and a budget. The budget is the part people get wrong.
| Move | Costs | Gives you | Worth it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roman Cancel | Vital Gauge | Recovery cut short after a hit connects | The follow-up wins the round or the position |
| Meat Shield | Vital Gauge → Healing Gauge | Unblockable at full charge | You need a guaranteed opening |
| Collateral Damage | Taking the hit | Damage taken feeds Healing Gauge | You were going to get hit anyway |
| Faulty Grenade | Nothing | A random grenade of three types | Always — it modifies Fourth Wall Attacks |
Neutral. Trigger Happy empties his guns forward, angled down in the air, and is the honest default. Death from Above is the movement Skill — the grounded version is a high forward leap with an extra input to change where he goes, and the aerial version redirects mid-air and attacks with no extra input needed. Between the two he has a genuinely unpredictable approach.
Fourth Wall Attacks. This is the parallel Skill set that makes Deadpool himself. Rope-a-Dope reels the opponent in from long range straight into a combo — the single best neutral tool he has. Lightning Tornado Upper is a fast launcher that changes with a Stun Grenade held. Burning Haymaker is altered by an Incendiary Grenade. So Faulty Grenade, which pulls a random grenade of three types, is not a novelty — it is a modifier for half your Skill list.
Grenades and Headpool. Faulty Grenade goes off after the attack or on a timer, and Headpool is its follow-up, alternating between throwing the grenade and throwing Headpool holding it. In the air, Headpool Hover keeps him up with an extra input to drop instantly, and a further input fires a projectile on a trajectory set by the button. It is a lot of options; pick two or three and learn them properly before adding more.
Meter. Fever Dream is the 50-gauge Super — a lunge into a slam sequence. Deadpool Corps is the Ultimate: it launches the opponent, then calls in the Deadpools of other universes to pile on. Both are straightforward, which is a relief on a character where nothing else is.
Movimientos clave de Deadpool
Twenty-three entries is too many to learn at once. These nine are the ones that decide games.
Roman Cancel
UnicosExplosion that cuts his recovery short, spending Vital Gauge. Only after an attack connects.
The defining move. An explosion that cuts his recovery short, spending Vital Gauge, and only usable after an attack connects. Immensely powerful and immensely expensive.
- The cost comes off the SHARED team health bar. Spend it on round-winning situations only.
Rope-a-Dope
HabilidadesFourth Wall Attack. Reels the opponent in from long range into a combo.
The best neutral tool he has. A Fourth Wall Attack that reels the opponent in from long range straight into a combo.
Collateral Damage
UnicosSwings through incoming damage; what he takes feeds the Healing Gauge.
The health interaction that pays you. Swings through incoming damage, and what he takes feeds the Healing Gauge.
- Use this when you were going to be hit anyway. It is the efficient half of his economy.
Meat Shield
UnicosRuns himself through, converting Vital Gauge into Healing Gauge. Unblockable at full charge.
Converts Vital Gauge into Healing Gauge, and is unblockable at full charge — a guaranteed opening, bought with your team's health.
Faulty Grenade
UnicosPulls a random grenade of three types, which goes off after the attack or on a timer.
Pulls a random grenade of three types, and the grenade you hold modifies his Fourth Wall Attacks. Not a novelty — a modifier.
Lightning Tornado Upper
HabilidadesFourth Wall Attack. Fast launcher that changes with a Stun Grenade held.
A fast Fourth Wall launcher that changes with a Stun Grenade held. Your primary combo starter once grenades are in play.
Death from Above
Habilidades25 de Medidor de HabilidadHigh forward leap, with an extra input to change where he goes.
The movement Skill. A high forward leap with an extra input to change where he goes, so the approach is not readable.
Trigger Happy
Habilidades25 de Medidor de HabilidadEmpties his guns forward, angled down in the air.
The honest default. Empties his guns forward, angled down in the air — the neutral button that costs nothing.
Deadpool Corps
Habilidades Ultimate100 de Medidor de HabilidadLaunches the opponent, then calls in the Deadpools of other universes to pile on.
The Ultimate. Launches the opponent, then calls in the Deadpools of other universes to pile on — a clean 100-gauge cash-out.
Combos de Deadpool
First combo to learn
The universal opener into Slice 'n Dice, which launches and has a follow-up attack. Ignore the rest of the movelist until this is automatic.
Rope-a-Dope conversion
The single most valuable pattern Deadpool has. A full-screen tool that converts directly into a combo.
Grenade-modified launcher
Learn what each of the three grenades does to Lightning Tornado Upper and Burning Haymaker. That knowledge is most of his ceiling.
The expensive extension
Spends shared Vital GaugeThis is what Roman Cancel is for. It is also health your anchor will not have. Use it to close a character, not to pad a combo.
Ultimate cash-out
100 Skill GaugeRefreshingly simple on a character where nothing else is.
Sinergia de equipo y asistencias de Deadpool
Called in, Rope-a-Dope is an assist that drags the opponent toward your point character from long range, which very few assists in MARVEL Tōkon can do. The problem with Deadpool on a team is not what he gives — it is what he spends, so build around the fact that he is drawing on the shared Vital Gauge.
BladeDaywalker Deflect is a cheap, health-free way to stop bleeding the bar Deadpool keeps spending.
HulkHulk needs no meter and no health economy, so the team's resources stay Deadpool's.
Captain AmericaA durable, resource-free point character to absorb the rounds Deadpool made expensive.
LokiTwo trickster characters on the Samurai Outriders — feints, illusions and grenades is a lot of nonsense to read at once. The practical rule for Deadpool teams in MARVEL Tōkon: pair him with characters who need nothing. Every point of Vital Gauge he spends and every point of Skill Gauge he uses is unavailable to the other three, so a team of four resource-hungry characters with Deadpool in it runs out of everything at once.
Emparejamientos de Deadpool
Notice the pattern: Deadpool struggles against characters who make him spend. Against aggressive teams, stop using Roman Cancel entirely and lean on Collateral Damage, which converts damage you were taking anyway into Healing Gauge. His worst games are the ones where he spent the bar in round one.
Deadpool has the biggest movelist in MARVEL Tōkon and the scariest price tag — Meat Shield and Roman Cancel are paid for with the Vital Gauge, which the whole team shares.

How does Deadpool's health cost work in MARVEL Tōkon?
Roman Cancel and Meat Shield both spend the Vital Gauge, and in MARVEL Tōkon the Vital Gauge is shared by all four characters on your team. That means Deadpool is not risking his own life the way a health-cost character usually does — he is spending a resource your other three fighters also depend on. Collateral Damage is the exception that works in your favour: it swings through incoming damage and feeds the Healing Gauge with what he takes.
What are Fourth Wall Attacks in MARVEL Tōkon?
Fourth Wall Attacks are Deadpool's parallel set of Skills, mostly on Medium. They include Rope-a-Dope, which reels the opponent in from long range; Lightning Tornado Upper, a fast launcher; Burning Haymaker, which rides an inflatable orca; Random Bullshit Go!, which hurls junk from the air; and several Foot Dive variants. Some of them change behaviour depending on which grenade Faulty Grenade has pulled.
Is Deadpool the hardest character in MARVEL Tōkon?
He is the most demanding to learn. He has twenty-three command list entries — the most on the roster — split between ordinary Skills and Fourth Wall Attacks that live on the same button. On top of that he manages a random grenade type, a Healing Gauge, and a Roman Cancel priced in shared team health. Magik is harder to execute; Deadpool is harder to know.
When should Deadpool use Roman Cancel?
Only when the follow-up wins the round or the position. Roman Cancel cuts his recovery short after an attack connects, which makes unsafe sequences safe and extends combos — but the Vital Gauge it spends is the same bar your third and fourth characters have to fight on. Against aggressive teams the correct number of Roman Cancels is often zero.
What is the best Deadpool combo starter in MARVEL Tōkon?
Rope-a-Dope. It is a Fourth Wall Attack that reels the opponent in from long range directly into a combo, which makes it both his best neutral tool and his most reliable conversion. Beyond that, Lightning Tornado Upper is a fast launcher that changes when he is holding a Stun Grenade, so learning the grenade interactions is where his damage ceiling actually lives.
Who should you pair with Deadpool in MARVEL Tōkon?
Characters who need nothing. Deadpool draws on both the shared Vital Gauge and the Skill Gauge, so teammates who function without resources leave more for him — Hulk, Captain America and Wolverine all qualify. Blade is also excellent, since Daywalker Deflect is a health-free way to stop the bleeding Deadpool keeps causing.
