Ekko Power Spikes (Patch 26.20)

Top

When Ekko Top gets stronger, in the order it happens in a typical ranked game: ability unlocks from the most common skill order, item spikes at the median minute players finish them, and the game length Ekko wins most.

  1. Lv 3
All three basic abilities at level 3
Ekko's full combo is online — the first point where trading all-in is realistic.
  2. Lv 6
Ultimate rank 1 at level 6
The biggest early spike: look for a kill or a roam as soon as Ekko hits it.
  3. Lv 11
Ultimate rank 2 at level 11
Lower ultimate cooldown means more fights Ekko can start or win.
  4. Lv 16
Ultimate rank 3 at level 16
Lower ultimate cooldown means more fights Ekko can start or win.

Item timings are medians: half of players finish later. Fall behind in farm and every item spike moves back with it.

Ekko Top Laning Plan

Ekko recovers well from behind: a lost lane is not a lost game, so keep farming and wait for teamfights. On average Ekko Top is 106 gold ahead of the lane opponent at 15 minutes and ahead in 48% of games. Ekko averages 1.61 solo kills by 15 minutes.

Ekko Mid and Late Game

What Ekko does better or worse than other champions after laning, from this patch's ranked games — percentiles where 100 is the highest of every champion.

Play to these strengths

  • Play around dragons, Grubs and Baron — Ekko rates 70/100 for objective control.
  • Ekko wins 11.6 points more in short games than long ones: group, take objectives and end before the enemy scales.

Playing Ekko

  • Chronobreak is a potent escape tool, but it can also be quite powerful when used offensively. Don't underestimate its damage potential.
  • If you can proc Z-Drive Resonance on an enemy champion, it's worth taking risks to do so. The bonus Move Speed makes it easy to escape.
  • Phase Dive's dash is a great tool for setting up Ekko's other abilities. Use it to get double hits with Timewinder or get into position to detonate Parallel Convergence.

Playing Against Ekko

  • Ekko is significantly weaker when his ultimate is down. Watch for the trail he leaves behind to determine if Chronobreak is available.
  • Ekko's stun zone takes 3 seconds to arm. Watch for the image he creates on cast and try to guess where the zone was placed.
  • The second hit of Timewinder does more damage than the first; try to avoid it.
