Rumble Power Spikes (Patch 26.19)

Mid

When Rumble Mid gets stronger, in the order it happens in a typical ranked game: ability unlocks from the most common skill order, item spikes at the median minute players finish them, and the game length Rumble wins most.

  1. Lv 3
All three basic abilities at level 3
Rumble's full combo is online — the first point where trading all-in is realistic.
  2. Lv 6
Ultimate rank 1 at level 6
The biggest early spike: look for a kill or a roam as soon as Rumble hits it.
  3. Lv 11
Ultimate rank 2 at level 11
Lower ultimate cooldown means more fights Rumble can start or win.
  4. Lv 16
Ultimate rank 3 at level 16
Lower ultimate cooldown means more fights Rumble can start or win.
  5. 13.3 min
    First item at 13.3 min
Liandry's TormentLiandry's Torment is done — Rumble's first real damage or durability spike.

Item timings are medians: half of players finish later. Fall behind in farm and every item spike moves back with it.

Rumble Mid Laning Plan

Rumble snowballs: a lead converts into wins very reliably, and a deficit is hard to recover — play the lane to get ahead, not to stay even. On average Rumble Mid is 25 gold behind the lane opponent at 15 minutes and ahead in only 57% of games. A 1,000-gold lead at 15 turns into a 74% win rate; a 1,000-gold deficit leaves 20%. Rumble averages 0.83 solo kills by 15 minutes.

Rumble Mid and Late Game

What Rumble does better or worse than other champions after laning, from this patch's ranked games — percentiles where 100 is the highest of every champion.

Play to these strengths

  • Rumble is a main damage source (79/100): stay alive and in range for the whole fight rather than diving first.
  • Rumble wins 9.8 points more in long games than short ones: avoid coin-flip fights early and let the game go long.

Playing Rumble

  • Try and pace yourself to stay in the Danger Zone to maximize your effectiveness. It is easy to overheat if you rapidly use your abilities.
  • Try and keep targets in the range of your Flamespitter. It can deal a lot of damage overtime.
  • If you are winning a fight you can use your ultimate to wall off an escape path.

Playing Against Rumble

  • Watch Rumble's Heat bar carefully. If you see him Overheat, go in for the kill while his skills are disabled.
  • Rumble's ultimate can deal a lot of damage if you stay inside the area of effect. When you see the missiles falling, move out of the way as quickly as possible.
  • Rumble deals almost entirely magic damage. Build some Magic Resistance to reduce his damage.
