Levelling in Aniimo is really two climbs running side by side: your own character level and the levels of the Aniimo on your team. They are tied together, because the item that raises your character level also raises the level cap your Aniimo can reach. This guide gives you a route in level order through the 14 regions of Breezy Plains and the four open areas of the Whisperwake Isles, shows which activities feed each climb, and sends you to the exact spot on the map for each one.

How levelling works: character level vs Aniimo level

The game files describe Safaris as the item "used to raise your character level, unlock pathfinder skills, and increase the Aniimo level cap." That last clause is the important one: however much EXP you pour into your team, your character level sets the ceiling. So keeping your character level climbing matters as much as feeding your team EXP, and most of the activities in this guide are on the list because they pay Safaris.

For your Aniimo, three consumables state their EXP outright, and the Habi-Cube item text says that training Aniimo in the Habi-Cube grants Aniimo EXP (feeding there also raises Bond and Acquired Potential; exercise raises Bond and Aptitudes). What battles award is not recorded in the files.

Region level ranges: the backbone of the route

Every region has a level band in the game files, and wild Aniimo spawn inside it. Sorted by the bottom of each band, the regions form a natural route. The bosses column shows each region's Alphas and Omegas with their levels; where a boss has no level of its own in the files, MetaBot uses the region cap, so treat those as "up to". For what else is left in each region, see region progression.

Boss levels don't always match their region either. Alpha Turbo is level 30 in a 5–15 starting region, so leave it for later. Going the other way, Alpha Irisal (15) is below its Sea of Flowers band, and Omega Tuckin (25) is well below the 35–37 Mistwoods. Both are early wins if you can get to them. The boss progression guide covers the full fight order.

Early-game route: level 5 to 30

Our recommended opening route, built from the level bands and the main story order in the quest list. The story itself moves from Nimbus Fields to Sea of Flowers, so the route follows it and picks up the Safaris sources along the way.

  1. 1
Nimbus Fields (5–15): story, Elite Training, first catches

Play the opening chapters through Institute Initiation and Setting Out Again. Chasing the Clouds is one of only two quests in the files that list Safaris as a reward, paying 200 of them. Six of the 15 Elite Training points are here (for example this one), along with a Lumin Amber and the Chasing Clouds sanctum. All three are Safaris sources. Register every species you meet, because Catch New Aniimo pays Safaris too. Unlike Turbo, Alpha Geoclaw fits the region at up to level 15, so it is an early Defeat Alphas win.

  2. 2
Sea of Flowers (19–28): Bloomville and your first Alpha

Follow Go to Bloomville, Ceremony Preparations and The Unbegun Ceremony. Alpha Irisal sits at level 15, the lowest fixed level of any Alpha, and Defeat Alphas is a listed Safaris source. Bloomville's perfumers also start the "A Fragrant Journey" quest series, which sends you out to other regions.

  3. 3
Forest of Falling Stars (20–25): fill the gap

A tight 20–25 band that lines up with the second half of the Sea of Flowers. Pick up A Fragrant Journey: Forest of Falling Stars and catch the species here. Alpha Stellarys is level 30, so come back for it later.

  4. 4
Alphas at 25, then The Argent Strait (28–32)

Two level-25 Alphas bridge the gap: Alpha Tubster in The Argent Strait and Alpha Panpanta in Echoback Landing. If you're taking on Omega Tuckin, it is also level 25. The Argent Strait's own 28–32 band carries you to 30, and its journey quest Fly Free! fits here. The Argent Strait also holds three Elite Training Tracking Points (one here).

Mid-game route: level 30 to 47

  1. Lv 30–35
Beast Fang Ridge and the level-30 Alphas

Beast Fang Ridge (13–35 on paper, but 18 of its 19 spawn rows are 30–35) is the main zone; its journey quest Warrior starts the Thousand-Fang Ridge legend, and Alpha Glynsera is up to 35. This is also the moment for the three level-30 Alphas you skipped: Turbo, Stellarys and Blazen on Blitzwood's low edge. The ridge is also home to Alpha Minespine, up to 35 like Glynsera. Alpha Scorchhowl shares the ridge at up to 35 as well.

  2. Lv 35–40
The Mistwoods and Echoback's real band

The Mistwoods (35–37) holds Alpha Leafy and the follow-up to Tuckin, Binding Oath. Then move into Echoback Landing proper, where most spawns are 36–40. It has three Elite Training points (one here), Everlasting Echoback Song, and Omega Sherro at up to 40. The Mistwoods also has two Elite Training Tracking Points (one here).

  3. Lv 40–47
Blitzwood core, Berylline Vale, early Russet bosses

Blitzwood's 40–45 core opens up here, along with An Answer from the Heavens. Berylline Vale (40–47) has Alpha Ignitis at 40 (its description says it spawns at night), Alpha Bouldus up to 47, and the Lightning Gale sanctum. Alpha Rookey and Omega Infergon are both level 40 even though Russet Highlands itself is 45–50.

From 43 onwards the bands overlap heavily. Our order is Rosetower Woods (43–50), Russet Highlands (45–50, including Helmut's Island Adventure, which rewards an Aniipod Ultra), Zephyrus Landbridge (47–57, home to two sanctums), Driftwise Meadow (50–55), and finally Tideblossom Coast (53–60). The Breezy Plains story finishes there with Rainbow of the Ground and A New Journey, and Alpha Luminelle tops the region at up to 60. Two more Alphas sit in this stretch: Alpha Grizbo in Rosetower Woods (up to 50) and Alpha Magmarex in Zephyrus Landbridge (up to 57).

Late-game route: the Whisperwake Isles (level 54 to 64)

Season 1 Part 2 (build 1.0.3857679, released October 29, 2026) adds a second world, the Whisperwake Isles, and lifts the level cap to 70: the game's Aniimo growth table now has 70 levels. The isles have four open areas whose level bands pick up where Breezy Plains stops, so they are the natural next step once Tideblossom Coast and Driftwise Meadow stop keeping up with your team.

How to unlock the Whisperwake Isles

  1. 1
Earn Trailblazer I and reach level 55

The first objectives of the main quest A Song from the Sea are "Promote to Trailblazer I" and "Reach level 55." The Trailblazer I title comes from the title promotion assessment Promotion: Meaning of Exploration, where you challenge Senior Cecelia on Tideblossom Coast.

  2. 2
Meet Dr. Lewis at Echoback Landing

With both done, Dr. Lewis calls and asks you to meet him and Nicole at Echoback Landing. Investigate the coast, the area around the whale bones and the distant sea surface, then report what you found.

  3. 3
Switch to night and follow the song

Switch the time to night, investigate the sea after dark and head out toward the source of the singing.

  4. 4
    Wake up in Crescent Bay

The next quest, A Strange Island, opens with you waking up on the shore of Crescent Bay. Along the way you set up the Research Console and enable Outpost teleportation.

The four open Whisperwake Isles areas in level order (game files, build 1.0.3857679)

The isles main story, area by area

  1. Lv 54–59
    Secluded Seas: Crescent Bay

The "Secluded Seas" chapter opens with On White Sands, Inside Bubbles, continues with Visit Mirrorsea Village and ends with Where All Waters Converge, all three in Crescent Bay. Alpha Glameep is the area's boss at up to 59.

  2. Lv 60–62
Challenge of the Roaring Rapids: Rosy Mirelands

The "Challenge of the Roaring Rapids" chapter starts in Rosy Mirelands with A Sweet, Sticky Adventure!. Alpha Sugartini waits here at up to 62.

  3. Lv 61–63
    Wildwater Gorge

The Challenge of Fighting Upstream! moves the story into Wildwater Gorge, home of Alpha Jabster at up to 63.

  4. Lv 62–64
    Cloudreach Falls

Land of Raging Currents closes the chapter in Cloudreach Falls, where Omega Jeburst is the highest-level boss in the game at up to 64.

The isles change which Safaris sources you lean on. The game files place no Elite Training points and no sanctums there, so your Safaris on the isles come from the main story, from registering new species (the Whisperwake Isles Aniilog book has 29 entries), from defeating the three isles Alphas, and from the 29 Lumin Amber spots across the four areas.

Which activities matter: the levelling activity matrix

Every activity below is linked to a levelling item by the game files' own source labels. "Not recorded" means the files don't say whether it repeats, so we don't guess.

A few more Safaris sources appear only as labels — Pathfinder Challenge, Courses, Catch Completion and Aniimo Catches Report — with no location attached. Holo-Battle Sim is the only listed source of Training EXP, whose item text says it is "used to increase Training Mastery", not character or Aniimo level.

A repeatable daily levelling routine

This routine is our recommendation, not something the game prescribes. It stacks the Safaris sources that don't run out first, then spends the rest of your session in the region that matches your level.

  1. 1
    Clear Daily Activity Quests

They are the only Safaris source with "Daily" in the name, and they pay Glimmer as well. The daily and weekly checklist has the full list of chores.

  2. 2
Run the Alpha at or just below your level

Use the region table above to pick one, then open it on the boss map. Most Alphas list a 20-second respawn interval, so you can check in-game whether repeat kills keep paying.

  3. 3
    Register one new species

Filter the interactive map to your region and go after anything you haven't caught. The catching guide covers throws and Aniipods.

  4. 4
Release spares and feed Growth items

Releasing Aniimo is a listed source of Growth Bud and Growth Flower. Feed them to whoever is closest to an evolution level.

  5. 5
Collect Home Production and push one quest

Home Production can yield all three Growth items (see Homeland). Finish the session with a story or journey quest, since quests are once-only Safaris you shouldn't leave on the table.

Common levelling mistakes

  • Going to Blitzwood at 29. Its headline band starts at 29, but nearly every spawn is 40–45. The same applies to Echoback Landing below 36. Beast Fang Ridge is the same below 30.
  • Fighting Alpha Turbo on arrival. It is level 30 in a 5–15 region. Come back once you're through the Argent Strait.
  • Treating Elite Training as endgame. Six of the 15 Tracking Points are in Nimbus Fields, the starting region, and Elite Training is listed as a source for 24 items, including Safaris and Growth Fruit.
  • Levelling Aniimo but not yourself. Safaris raise the Aniimo level cap, so a team pinned at the cap needs character levels, not more Growth Fruit.
  • Chipping HP before a catch. Catching new species is a Safaris source, but the capture formula has no HP term, so lowering a catchable Aniimo's HP does nothing.
  • Skipping journey quests. Quests pay once, and "Complete Quests" is a Safaris source. Check the quest list for anything left open in regions you've outlevelled.

Guide FAQ

What is the fastest way to level up in Aniimo?

Follow the region level bands in order and stack Safaris sources as you go: story and journey quests, catching every new species, Alphas at your level, Daily Activity Quests, Elite Training and sanctums. The game files contain no EXP values, so nobody can publish a verified EXP-per-hour ranking; the route above is built from level bands and reward sources.

What is the level cap in Aniimo?

70 as of Season 1 Part 2 (build 1.0.3857679): the game's Aniimo growth table has 70 levels. The highest open area, [Cloudreach Falls](/aniimo/regions/cloudreach-falls) on the Whisperwake Isles, runs to level 64. Four more isles areas named "Unknown Area" are listed in the files, with no levels or content yet.

How do I unlock the Whisperwake Isles?

Earn the Trailblazer I title and reach level 55. Dr. Lewis then calls you to [Echoback Landing](/aniimo/regions/echoback-landing) for the main quest [A Song from the Sea](/aniimo/quests/a-song-from-the-sea): investigate the coast, switch the time to night and follow the singing out to sea. The next quest, [A Strange Island](/aniimo/quests/a-strange-island), lands you on the shore of [Crescent Bay](/aniimo/regions/crescent-bay).

How do I get Safaris in Aniimo?

The game files list 11 sources for [Safaris](/aniimo/items/safaris): Elite Training, Complete Quests, Catch New Aniimo, Catch Completion, Defeat Alphas, Daily Activity Quests, Aniimo Catches Report, Obtain Lumin Amber, Pathfinder Challenge, Courses and Sanctum Clear. Two quests name an exact amount: [Chasing the Clouds](/aniimo/quests/chasing-the-clouds) (200) and [Sink into the Colorless Dream](/aniimo/quests/sink-into-the-colorless-dream) (60).

Where is Elite Training in Aniimo?

The game files place 15 Elite Training points, labelled "Tracking Point" on the in-game map: 6 in [Nimbus Fields](/aniimo/regions/nimbus-fields), 3 in [Echoback Landing](/aniimo/regions/echoback-landing), 3 in [The Argent Strait](/aniimo/regions/the-argent-strait), 2 in [The Mistwoods](/aniimo/regions/the-mistwoods) and 1 in [Russet Highlands](/aniimo/regions/russet-highlands). They are waypoints for Elite Training course objectives (one simply says "Go here to make a report"), not battle spots; the rewards come from completing the Elite Training program's quests. All of them are on the [Elite Training map](/aniimo/map/elite-training).

How much EXP does a Growth Fruit give?

Its item text says 25,000 Aniimo EXP. [Growth Flower](/aniimo/items/growth-flower) gives 5,000 and [Growth Bud](/aniimo/items/growth-bud) 1,000. These go to an Aniimo, not to your character level.

Why can't my Aniimo level up any further?

Your Aniimo are probably at the level cap. Safaris raise both your character level and the Aniimo level cap, so earn more Safaris from quests, new catches, Alphas or Elite Training to lift it.

What does the Activity EXP Gift Pack do?

Its description only says it is "an Activity Gift Pack distributed by Polaris Institute" that you open "to receive generous rewards". The game files don't list its contents or where it comes from.
